Player Outlook
Marcus Semien needed a strong final four months to rebound from a slow start in his first season with the Rangers. He was much steadier in his second year and easily better overall with an .826 OPS in 2023 which was nearly 100 points higher than his 2022 mark. Semien's Statcast page was underwhelming as it always tends to be, but he's mastered the art of pulling flyballs down the line and just over the wall to the point that it's impossible to doubt that he simply has that skill. He also cut his strikeout rate in 2023 to 14.6 percent, allowing him to hit for a solid .276 average even with all the weakly- to moderately-struck flyballs mixed in. Finally, Semien continues to be the modern day Iron Man, leading the league in plate appearances for the third straight season. He's about as safe as an early-round pick gets.
