The Dodgers optioned Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Knack threw five innings of one-run ball during his last start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but he will head back to the minors nonetheless. His demotion will allow J.P. Feyereisen to come up from the minors while also opening a spot in the Dodgers' rotation -- potentially pointing toward Walker Buehler (elbow) making his season debut Monday against the Marlins.... Dodgers' Landon Knack: Quiets Arizona Tuesday
Knack did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on four hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings. Knack's only major blemish on the evening was a fourth-inning solo home run by Christian Walker. Otherwise, the 26-year-old held the Diamondbacks in check, though he only threw 64 pitches after a bee colony behind home plate caused an extended delay to the game and disrupted his warmup routine. Still, Knack has been impressive in his three starts thus far, posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB in 16 innings. Manager Dave Roberts has not announced another start for Knack, as it's possible Walker Buehler (elbow) replaces him in the rotation next week after throwing five innings in his most recent minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.... Dodgers' Landon Knack: Getting another start
Knack is slated to start Wednesday's game against Washington at Nationals Park. The 26-year-old righty will make his second straight turn through the rotation after limiting the Nationals to two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four over five innings in his MLB debut this past Wednesday. Though he'll get a rematch with a weak Washington lineup, Knack's outing will come on the road this time after he had the luxury of debuting at Dodger Stadium. Walker Buehler (elbow) is due to make the fifth start of his rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City, and if all goes well, he could be activated from the 15-day injured list next week to bump Knack out of the big-league rotation.... Dodgers' Landon Knack: Primed for big-league debut
Knack will be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Wednesday against the Nationals, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed after Tuesday's win that Knack will make his major-league debut Wednesday in the series finale against Washington. A second-round pick out of East Tennessee State in 2020, Knack advanced to Triple-A last season and has posted a 3.22 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 54:22 K:BB in 13 total starts for Oklahoma City (58.2 innings). Knack has joined the team in Los Angeles but will need to be officially added to the 26-man roster ahead of Wednesday's game.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Optioned to Triple-A
Knack was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Knack made two appearances, including one start, this spring, allowing two earned runs on one hit and a walk while striking out seven batters over four innings. The right-hander produced a 2.93 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 43 frames in 10 starts with Oklahoma City last year, and if he repeats that production, he'll likely earn a shot in the majors sooner rather than later.... Dodgers' Landon Knack: Climbs to Triple-A
The Dodgers promoted Knack from Double-A Tulsa to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Josh Thomas of DodgersDigest.com reports. After laboring in the Texas League a season ago, Knack has fared dramatically better at the Double-A level thus far in 2023, pitching to a 2.20 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 20.8 K-BB% across 57.1 innings. The 25-year-old ended his time at Tulsa in style, tossing a season-high 7.2 innings Saturday while allowing just four baserunners and striking out eight en route to earning the promotion to Triple-A. He'll be joined in the Oklahoma City rotation by top pitching prospect Emmet Sheehan, who will also be bumped up from Double-A during the upcoming week.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Makes season debut
Knack made his season debut over the weekend for Double-A Tulsa, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out four over two innings. He missed the first month of the minor-league season while he was building up in extended spring training after suffering a soft-tissue injury earlier in camp. Knack is one of the Dodgers' best pitching prospects and could split the year between Double-A and Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Gets invitation to big-league camp
Knack will take part in spring training with the Dodgers as a non-roster invitee, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. Knack was a second-round pick by the Dodgers in 2020 and spent the campaign at the team's alternate training site. He'll get a chance to showcase his stuff in spring training before heading to the minors to open the campaign.... See More ... See Less
