Alvarez was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with right oblique discomfort.
While the Astros are simply calling it "discomfort" for now, Alvarez is headed back to Houston for further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. Generally, oblique injuries result in longer than minimum stays on the IL, but a timeline for his return should become clearer once Alvarez gets checked out.
