  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Supplies two helpers in win

Nelson logged two assists, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 4.

Nelson set up goals by Gabriel Landeskog and Samuel Girard. This ended a four-game slump for Nelson, who had been fairly quiet in a second-line role this postseason, though the addition of Landeskog on his wing could be beneficial for both players. Nelson has picked up nine shots on net, six hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over four playoff contests.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Surpasses 300 goals

Nelson scored two goals Saturday in a 5-4 loss to the Kings.

He earned the 300th and 301st goals of his career. According to Dan Greenspan of NHL.com, Nelson is the 28th American-born NHLer to hit 300 and one of just six active forwards, joining Patrick Kane, Chris Kreider, Auston Matthews, Max Pacioretty and James van Riemsdyk. Nelson could be a difference-maker for the Avalanche in the postseason. He has compiled 27 goals and 50 points in 78 NHL playoff outings.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Manages assist Saturday

Nelson produced an assist in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Blues.

Nelson set up a Nathan MacKinnon tally while the Avalanche played with an extra attacker as they attempted a late comeback. Over the last nine games, Nelson has four goals and five assists, so he's cruising in his second-line role while also seeing a decent chunk of power-play time. For the season, he's up to 54 points (six on the power play), 182 shots on net and a plus-8 rating over 76 appearances between the Avalanche and the Islanders.

Nelson scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

Nelson gave the Avalanche a 2-1 lead late in the first period. He's earned four goals, four assists and 12 shots on net over his last eight contests. The center is up to 24 goals, 29 assists, 181 shots on net and a plus-9 rating over 75 appearances between the Avalanche and the Islanders this season, and he's looking right at home on Colorado's second line.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Credited with helper

Nelson supplied an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Blackhawks.

Nelson bounced back from two scoreless outings when he was credited with the primary assist on Martin Necas' game-tying goal late in the third period. This gives Nelson nine points over 13 games with the Avalanche and a total of 52 points, 179 shots on net, 39 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating across 74 outings this season when accounting for his time with the Islanders. He's a reliable scorer in a top-six role who can help fantasy managers with points and shots.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Delivers assist in Thursday's win

Nelson logged an assist in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Kings.

Nelson helped out on the first of Martin Necas' two goals in the contest. With six points over his last four contests, Nelson is finding consistency in a second-line role after taking a few weeks to adjust to his new team. The center has 51 points (23 goals, 28 assists), 176 shots on net and a plus-8 rating across 71 appearances between the Avalanche and the Islanders.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Nabs power-play helper

Nelson logged a power-play assist in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings.

Nelson has three goals and three assists over his last five contests. The 33-year-old has been fairly steady in a second-line role since joining the Avalanche in a trade from the Islanders. For the season, the center is up to 23 goals, 27 helpers, 175 shots on net and a plus-7 rating over 70 appearances. He's reached the 50-point mark four years in a row and a total of six times in his career.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Tallies two points in win

Nelson scored a goal, dished out an assist and put away the game-winning tally in the shootout of Saturday's 5-4 win over the Canadiens.

Nelson tallied an assist on Colorado's second goal of the game before scoring the team's final tally in regulation to open scoring in the third period. He then scored the game-winning tally in the shootout as Colorado's fourth player to attempt a shot. The 33-year-old center has points in back-to-back contests for the first time since joining the Avalanche and four points in his last two games. Nelson is up to 23 goals, 26 assists and 174 shots on net in 69 games this season. The veteran center has fit in nicely on Colorado's second line but has also played well in specific situations alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Valeri Nichushkin on the top line. Nelson should provide consistent offense for the rest of the season, and he's a strong play in all fantasy formats for the postseason.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Lights lamp twice Thursday

Nelson scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the game-winner, in Thursday's 5-1 victory over the Senators.

The goals were his first in seven appearances since being acquired by the Avalanche at the trade deadline. The power-play tally was only Nelson's second of the season -- his other came back on Nov. 23 -- but the former Islander is up to seven game-winning goals on the campaign, one short of the career-high eight he produced in 2022-23. The veteran center is three goals shy of 25, and three points away from recording 50 -- marks he's reached in each of the prior five full seasons.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Assist in first game with new team

Nelson picked up an assist in a 7-4 Colorado win over Toronto on Saturday.

Nelson hit the post in the first minute of his Colorado debut. He got a primary assist on Valeri Nichushkin's second goal of the first period. Nelson looked almost immediately comfortable with his new team and linemates. The pivot has points in seven of his last eight games (four goals, seven assists), and he's skating with perhaps the best players of his career. Nelson's fantasy value is about to take a big jump.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Traded to Colorado

Nelson and William Dufour were traded to the Avalanche from the Islanders on Thursday in exchange for Oliver Kylington, Calum Ritchie, a conditional first-round pick and a conditional 2028 third-round pick.

Nelson's tenure with the Islanders, the only team he's known in the NHL since he was drafted 30th overall in 2010, is over. He reached the 20-goal mark nine times in 12 seasons with the club, including this year after scoring in his last game as an Islander on Tuesday versus the Jets. He'll now join a true contender and slot in as the second-line center behind Nathan MacKinnon as the Avalanche look to climb the mountain again. Nelson was one of the top forwards on the market, and while he may end up being a rental for the Avalanche, he's an immediate upgrade over Casey Mittelstadt, who could slip down the lineup, move to the wing or both to accommodate this move.

  • Islanders' Brock Nelson: Two points in win

Nelson recorded an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Jets.

Nelson has been on a tear since the league resumed play following the 4 Nations break, tallying eight points across his last six games (three goals, five assists) and failing to crack the scoresheet just once. Nelson also has 15 shots, five hits and four blocked shots in that span.

  • Islanders' Brock Nelson: Collects three points in victory

Nelson generated two goals and one assist in Saturday's 7-4 win over Nashville.

Nelson scored twice in the second period, including his third shorthanded goal of 2024-25. He has produced three goals and five assists during his five-game point spree. Nelson has accounted for 19 goals and 41 points through 59 appearances this season. Should the Islanders elect to move him, the 33-year-old forward has been increasing his trade value ahead of Friday's deadline.

  • Islanders' Brock Nelson: Picks up helper

Nelson logged an assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Stars.

Nelson has four points and 16 shots on net over his last four contests. The 33-year-old has been excellent in a second-line role this season, giving the Islanders some stability on offense. He's up to 36 points, 150 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 56 appearances. That production doesn't play in all fantasy formats, especially with a lack of physicality, but Nelson's consistency can add some appeal.

  • Islanders' Brock Nelson: Goal, assist in home state

Nelson produced a goal on a team-high eight shots, an assist, one hit, one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Minnesota.

Nelson logged the primary assist on Kyle Palmieri's 16th goal of 2024-25 before he gave New York a 2-1 lead in the opening 28 seconds of the middle frame. Nelson has been subject to trade speculation due to his pending unrestricted free agent status, but New York has crept into the playoff race recently, so General Manager Lou Lamoriello may have to be blown away with an offer in order to concede a top-six center. Nelson is at 17 goals and 35 points through 55 appearances this season. The 33-year-old won't have any time off during the break -- he'll don the Team USA sweater at the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.
