    McNeill inked a contract with Austrian team EHC Linz on Tuesday.

    McNeill hasn't played in an NHL game since 2016-17 when he logged one outing for the Stars. A career AHL player, the 26-year-old will give European hockey a shot in order to extend his professional career. This probably marks the end of the British Columbia native's chances of securing a permanent spot in the NHL.

  • Bruins' Mark McNeill: Signs two-way deal

    The Bruins have signed McNeill to a one-year, two-way contract, the team's official site reports.

    McNeill 's deal carries a cap hit of $650,000 at the NHL level. The 25-year-old split last season in the AHL, recording 14 goals and 25 points in 49 games. The the 6-foot-2, 214-pounder, who Chicago selected 18th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has two games worth of NHL experience to date and slots in as an organizational depth guy for a Boston organization that already has its share of good young forward prospects.

  • Predators' Mark McNeill: Dealt to Nashville

    McNeill was traded from Dallas to Nashville on Saturday, with defenseman Andrew O'Brien headed the other way.

    McNeill is shaping up to be a career AHLer, seeing as how he's only appeared in just two games on hockey's grandest stage since the Blackhawks originally took him 18th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. This season, he managed five goals and one assist over 18 games with the AHL's Stars, but poor defensive play led to a minus-10 rating over that span. Steer clear of McNeill in all fantasy formats.

  • Stars' Mark McNeill: Signs one-year extension with Stars

    McNeill signed a one-year, two-way contract Monday with the Stars.

    McNeill appeared in just one game for Dallas last season, as he spent majority of the 2016-17 campaign in the AHL. In 79 AHL contests, he recorded a total of 39 points. McNeill could potentially see a larger role in the NHL this coming season, but he'll likely end up floating back and forth between the two leagues given the two-way nature of the deal.

    McNeill was reassigned to AHL Texas on Sunday.

    McNeill heading to the minors was a foregone conclusion with Dallas missing the playoffs and its regular season expired. The depth pivot has only played in two NHL games this early in his career -- one as a Blackhawk in 2015-16, and his debut with the Stars on Saturday, when he logged 13:49 of ice time with one shot as well as a block.

    McNeill has been recalled from AHL Texas.

    McNeill receives his first call-up to Dallas since being traded from Chicago at the trade deadline and does so just in time for the team's final game of the season Saturday against the Avalanche. The 24-year-old has combined for 37 points between two teams at the AHL level this season and is more of a player to watch for next season than one to plug in for the regular-season finale.

    McNeill was traded to Dallas from Chicago along with a conditional fourth round pick in exchange for defenseman Johnny Oduya on Tuesday.

    The 24-year-old center has not played in game with the big club yet this season, and he's only played one NHL game in his three-year career. McNeill has six goals and 22 assists with AHL Rockford this season, and he will likely report to the AHL's Texas Stars after the trade is completed.

    McNeill was waived Monday for the purpose of reassignment, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.

    McNeill made his NHL debut last season, but failed to appear in another contest. In that lone game, the 23-year-old was on the ice for 12:44 and logged just three hits. Drafted 18th overall in the 2011 NHL Draft, the 23-year-old has yet to make the type of impact you would expect from a first-round pick. The center has reached the 40-point mark in each of the previous two AHL campaigns and could go for the three-peat this year as he will probably spend the majority of the season in the minors.

    McNeill signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blackhawks on Friday.

    McNeill made his NHL debut last season with the 'Hawks, registering three hits during 12:44 of ice time on Jan. 26 against the Hurricanes. The 23-year-old forward spent the rest of the season in the minors, compiling 48 points (25 goals, 23 assists) over 64 games with AHL Rockford. The 2011 first-round pick will once again spend the majority of the 2016-17 campaign in the minors, but should get a few more opportunities to suit up for the big club over the course of the season.

    McNeill was sent down to AHL Rockford on Wednesday, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

    McNeill got his first taste of NHL action on Tuesday night, recording three hits in 12:44 of ice time in a 5-0 loss. He has nine goals and 10 assists in 29 AHL games this season. The Hawks; 2011 first-round pick has shown potential in the AHL and should get his chance eventually in the big leagues, but the Blackhawks are particularly deep down the middle right now.
