  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Demoted to No. 2 kicker

Karty won't kick for the Rams on Sunday against the 49ers, with Harrison Mevis getting the nod instead, Adam Grosbard of the LA Daily News reports.

Karty has been demoted to the second spot on the depth chart, though head coach Sean McVay said Friday that Karty "is not going anywhere," indicating that the Rams intend to keep him on the roster. Karty has missed five of his 15 field-goal attempts in addition to missing three PATs while undergoing a sophomore slump in 2025.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Facing competition from Mevis

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Karty will face competition from Harrison Mevis for the kicking job this week, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.

Karty has gone just 10-of-15 on field-gal attempts this season, with three additional misses on PATs. He's been the clear weak link on a likely playoff team, unable to match a 2024 rookie campaign in which he converted 84.3 percent of his field-goal attempts. Karty has even struggled with kickoffs this year, so it's perhaps surprising the Rams waited this long to seriously consider a change. Mevis, listed at 5-foot-11, 243 pounds, has never kicked in an NFL regular-season game. He signed with the Rams' practice squad Wednesday after spending time with the Jets from June through September.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Underwhelming in Week 9

Karty missed his only field-goal attempt and went 4-for-5 on PATs in Sunday's 34-10 win over New Orleans.

Karty pushed an extra-point try wide left in the second quarter before missing a 39-yard field-goal attempt wide right later in the quarter. The kicker has now gone a disappointing 10-for-15 on field-goal tries, including 1-for-2 from 50-plus yards, while converting 23 of 26 PATs over eight games this season.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Makes five extra-point tries

Karty made all five of his extra-point attempts during the Rams' 35-7 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Even without superstar wideout Puka Nacua (ankle), the Rams offense scored touchdowns on all five of their scoring drives, which meant Karty was limited to point-after duties during Sunday's win in London. Even with his lack of field-goal tries in Week 7, Karty's fantasy floor should be elevated as long as the Rams offense continues to produce. Karty and the Rams are on a bye for Week 8, which makes Week 9 against the Saints on Sunday, Nov. 2 their next matchup.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Misses one kick vs. Baltimore

Karty converted on one of two field-goal attempts while making both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 17-3 win over the Ravens.

The second-year pro from Stanford has now missed a field goal in consecutive weeks, with his miss in Week 6 coming from just 26 yards out. Karty has made 10 of 14 field-goal tries and 14 of 16 extra-point attempts through the Rams first six games this season. His next opportunity to score will come in the Week 7 matchup against the Jaguars.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Makes one FGA in Week 5

Karty went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-3 on extra-point tries in Thursday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.

Karty missed a 53-yard field-goal try wide right early in the third quarter before later making a game-tying 48-yarder with two seconds left in regulation. The kicker also had a PAT blocked in the fourth quarter, marking his second missed extra-point attempt of the year. Through five games, Karty has gone 9-for-12 on field-goal attempts, including 1-for-2 from 50-plus yards, while also making 12 of 14 PATs.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Perfect in Week 4 win

Karty made both of his field-goal tries and connected on all three of his extra-point attempts during the Rams' 27-20 win over the Colts on Sunday.

Karty helped the Rams keep pace with the Colts by connecting on field goals from 42 and 37 yards in the first and second quarter, respectively. Karty has started the season 10-for-11 on extra-point tries and 8-for-10 on field-goal attempts. Both of his misses on field-goal attempts came on blocks during the Rams' Week 3 loss to the Eagles. Karty and the Rams will stay in Los Angeles and welcome in the 49ers on Thursday in an NFC West clash.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Pair of kicks blocked in loss

Karty went 4-for-6 on field-goal attempts and made two PATs in Sunday's 33-26 loss to the Eagles.

Karty made a 51-yard field goal in the first quarter before adding three more makes from 28, 33 and 46 yards in the second quarter. The kicker's luck turned in the second half, however, as he had kicks from 36 and 44 yards blocked by Philadelphia, the latter of which was a potential game-winning kick. Karty has now gone 7-for-9 on field-goal tries, while making seven of eight extra-point attempts over three games this season.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Makes two FGAs in Week 2

Karty went 2-for-2 on field-goal tries and 3-for-4 on PATs in Sunday's 33-19 win over the Titans.

Karty was much busier in Week 2, connecting on a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter before adding another 21-yard make to cap off the team's first possession in the third quarter. The kicker did not attempt a field goal in Week 1, and he has yet to be tasked with trying one from a challenging distance in 2025.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Makes pair of extra points

Karty converted both of his extra-point attempts in the Rams' 14-9 win over the Texans on Sunday.

This was the lowest scoring game of the Week 1 slate through Sunday. This could go down as the Rams' lowest-scoring game of the season when everyone is healthy, and Los Angeles' lack of red-zone success last season put Karty in plenty of positions to kick short field goals. As a 2024 rookie, Karty made 29 of 34 field-goal attempts and 32 of his 36 extra-point tries.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Perfect start to preseason

Karty connected on a 37-yard field goal and made all four PAT attempts during Saturday's 31-21 preseason win against the Cowboys.

The second-year kicker started where he left off, managing another perfect kicking performance. Last year, the rookie shook off a few missed kicks at the start of the year to finish his rookie campaign 29-for-34 on field goals and 32-for-36 on extra points. With the Rams offense humming again already in the preseason, Karty could be in line for a busy 2025.
