Titans' Trenton Cannon: Lands on IR
The Titans placed Cannon (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
Cannon suffered a knee injury during the opening kickoff of Monday's loss to the Bills. Jim Wyatt of the Titans official site reports that Terrance Mitchell and Andrew Adams will join the active roster in a corresponding transaction, while Chris Jackson (undisclosed) is also going on IR.

Titans' Trenton Cannon: Injured on return
Cannon exited Monday's game against the Bills with a knee injury, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
Cannon was injured while helping cover on the opening kickoff. He was able to walk off the field, but did so with the assistance of the training staff. While Cannon is out, Kyle Phillips will likely take over the team's kick-return duties. Of potential greater concern with Dontrell Hilliard (hamstring) and Julius Chestnut (coach's decision) inactive is the fact Cannon's exit leaves Derrick Henry and Hassan Haskins as the team's only healthy running backs.

Titans' Trenton Cannon: Won't return Monday
Cannon (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game against the Bills, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Cannon suffered the knee injury while helping cover on the opening kickoff. He was able to walk off the field, but he did so with the assistance of the training staff. In his absence, wideout Kyle Phillips will likely take over the team's kick-return duties. However, of greater importance, Derrick Henry and Hassan Haskins will be the team's only healthy running backs, as the team is already without Dontrell Hilliard (hamstring) and Julius Chestnut (coach's decision).

Titans' Trenton Cannon: Lands new roster deal
Cannon signed with the Titans' 53-man roster from the team's practice squad Monday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports
Cannon played 21 special-teams snaps after being elevated from Tennessee's practice squad ahead of Sunday's loss to the Giants and totaled 33 yards on two kick returns. The fifth-year back should now compete with Dontrell Hilliard and Kyle Philips for the team's top kick-return duties moving forward this season.

The Titans released Cannon on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's site reports.
Trenton, a 2018 sixth-round pick by the Jets, ran 38 times for 113 yards and a touchdown as a rookie, but he's only garnered 12 rushing attempts since. However, he remains a productive return man, bringing back 16 kickoffs for 328 yards in 11 appearances with the 49ers last year. Regardless, he'll have to look for a new opportunity in 2022 after failing to make the Titans' initial 53-man roster.

Titans' Trenton Cannon: Joins Titans
Cannon agreed to a contract with the Titans on Wednesday, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
Cannon spent most of the 2021 campaign with the 49ers and played only two offensive snaps in 11 contests, as most of his contributions came on special teams. The 27-year-old was productive as a return man, bringing back 16 kickoffs for 328 yards. He'll likely slot in as backfield depth and as a core player on special teams while with Tennessee.

Cannon (concussion) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Cannon was sidelined for nearly two months after sustaining a concussion in Week 13, but he returned to practice Jan. 12. The 27-year-old lost out on his kick-return duties shortly before his absence, so it's not yet clear whether he'll have a role on special teams Sunday.

The 49ers will designate Cannon (concussion) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Cannon had to be taken off the field in an ambulance during the 49ers' Week 13 matchup against Seattle in early December, and he's been sidelined since then. Whether he's available for Sunday's wild-card matchup against Dallas remains to be seen, but it's encouraging to see the 27-year-old back at practice.

49ers' Trenton Cannon: Out of hospital
Cannon (concussion) has been released from the hospital, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Cannon left Sunday's game against the Seahawks in an ambulance after taking a knee to the head on the opening kickoff. It was since reported that he was in stable condition, and his release from the hospital is optimistic news. Still, he will remain in the team's concussion protocol for the time being.
