Texans' Jalen Pitre: Ruled out for Week 10
Pitre (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
Pitre was unable to practice during Week 10 prep while in the league's concussion protocol and won't play in Sunday's AFC South tilt against Jacksonville. Alijah Huzzie was waived by the Texans on Thursday, so Tremon Smith could see more snaps at slot corner in Pitre's absence.

Texans' Jalen Pitre: Sits out practice
Pitre (concussion) didn't participate in Houston's practice Wednesday.
Pitre seemingly suffered a concussion during the team's Week 9 loss to Denver. The 26-year-old will have to clear the league's concussion protocol before he's eligible to return to the field. If Pitre can't play in Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars, Alijah Huzzie would likely serve as the team's starting slot corner in his place.

Texans' Jalen Pitre: Logs nine tackles in loss
Pitre recorded nine total tackles (four solo) in Monday night's 27-19 loss to the Seahawks.
The Baylor product finished with the second-most tackles on the Texans' defense during Monday's loss, trailing Kamari Lassiter's 10-stop performance. Pitre has now tallied 31 total tackles and five passes defended, including three interceptions, through the Texans' first six games this season. He's expected to continue causing problems for opposing quarterbacks in the Week 8 matchup against the 49ers.

Pitre logged four tackles (three solo) and two interceptions during the Texans' 44-10 win over the Ravens on Sunday.
Both of Pitre's interceptions off Cooper Rush came in the second half of Sunday's blowout win and resulted in 10 points for the Texans. Pitre is now up to three picks through the first five games of the regular season, which is tied with Kevin Byard and Kerby Joseph for second most in the NFL behind Devin Lloyd (four).

Pitre followed the eyes of Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and stepped in front of the receiver for a potential momentum-shifting interception in the fourth quarter. To that point, Houston's offense sputtered, but one play later, C.J. Stroud found Nico Collins for a 50-yard touchdown strike to knot the game at 10-10. Unfortunately for Houston, Collins lost a fumble later in the quarter as the team was driving for the go-ahead score. Pitre (ribs) has returned to Monday's game against the Buccaneers, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Pitre went to the locker room in the first half to be evaluated for a rib injury, but he has been cleared to return for the start of the third quarter. Jaylin Smith will revert to a rotational role at corner due to Pitre's return.

Texans' Jalen Pitre: Gets extension from Houston
Pitre (pectoral) has agreed to terms on a three-year extension with the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Pitre's deal -- which is reportedly worth roughly $39 million -- includes $29.2 million in guarantees, which would make him the NFL's highest-paid nickel back. In 12 games during the 2024 regular season, the 25-year-old recorded 65 tackles and an interception prior to sustaining a season-ending pectoral injury. Per Aaron Wilson, KPRC 2 Houston, Pitre is on track to participate in OTAs, which puts the 2022 second-rounder in line to reclaim his key role in a Houston secondary that also features Derek Stingley, who the team signed to a lucrative three-year extension last month.
