Thornhill posted 54 tackles and one pass defensed over 11 regular-season games in 2023.
Thornhill had a noticeable drop-off in production from his days with the Chiefs. Both the team and the player expected more after Thornhill signed a three-year deal a year ago, and the Browns need more of his previous version this coming season. There was a nagging calf injury, and he may never have been completely healthy. Thornhill is expected to rejoin Grant Delpit (groin) on the back end of the Browns' defense.

Thornhill is in danger of missing his second consecutive game after sitting out the team's Week 18 loss to Cincinnati with a calf injury. The Browns are now at risk of being without both starting safeties for Saturday's matchup, considering Grant Delpit (groin) has already been ruled out. If Thornhill ends up being unable to play, Ronnie Hickman should start in his place.

Thornhill (calf) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
After missing the Browns' regular-season finale and being listed as a nonparticipant at practice Tuesday, Thornhill was able to take a positive step Wednesday toward possibly suiting up for the wild-card round. He'll still likely need to manage a full practice Thursday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Friday and potentially gameday.
