  • Cardinals' L.J. Collier: Placed on IR

Collier (biceps) landed on injured reserve Saturday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Collier will now be sidelined for at least four weeks. There is currently no word on his timeline for recovery. In his absence, Cameron Thomas and Eric Banks could see some extra snaps.

  • Cardinals' L.J. Collier: Out for Week 2

Collier (biceps) is listed as out for Sunday's game versus the Giants, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports. After missing practice all week with a biceps issue, Collier will watch Arizona's game in Week 2 from the sidelines. 2022 third-rounder Cameron Thomas is a candidate to see more work as long as Collier remains out.

  • Cardinals' L.J. Collier: Signs with Arizona

The Cardinals agreed to terms with Collier on a one-year deal Tuesday, Darren Urban of team's official site reports. Collier will head from one NFC West team to another, as he spent the last four seasons in Seattle. The 2019 first-round pick played in only eight games last year, as he dealt with both elbow and thumb injuries and recorded just seven tackles (three solo). While Collier is coming off the least productive season of his career, he should still add solid depth to Arizona's pass rush unit that will be looking to fill the void left by J.J. Watt's retirement.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Return looming

Collier (elbow) was designated to return from IR on Wednesday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Collier can now practice with the team, and he'll be eligible to suit up as soon as Sunday against the Saints. However, he does have a three-week window until he needs to be moved to the active roster, so there is no certainty he'll return in Week 5.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Lands on COVID list

Collier (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Collier is vaccinated, so he can return as soon as he provides two negative tests more than 24 hours apart. If unable to do so by Sunday, the Seahawks' defensive line depth will take a hit when they host the Lions.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Gets minor ankle surgery

Collier revealed in his appearance Wednesday on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" that he underwent arthroscopic ankle surgery earlier in the week. Collier didn't miss any games in 2020, making 16 starts in the regular season and one more in the playoffs. His total of three sacks in 27 career games is disappointing for a first-round pick, but he at least gave the Seahawks competent snaps at multiple defensive-line positions in his second pro season. Collier didn't sound too worried about the ankle scope, and he should be healthy before training camp.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Disappointing rookie season

Collier made three tackles over 11 games in the 2019 season. Many said Collier was a reach when the Seahawks took him 29th overall in last year's draft, and the 24-year-old didn't do much to change those opinions. He played 10 or more defensive snaps in just six games, and he was a healthy scratch for both playoff games. Of course, it's not easy to battle for playing time against Jadeveon Clowney (core) and Ezekiel Ansah (neck), but that duo missed eight games between them and Collier didn't adjust to the pro ranks quickly enough to take advantage. Ansah will likely move on and Clowney's status for 2020 is to be determined, but even if both leave Seattle, Collier will have to compete with Rasheem Green, Branden Jackson and Quinton Jefferson (foot) for reps next year. The Seahawks will likely address their pass rush in free agency and the draft, too.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Ready for debut

Collier (coach's decision) will be active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Collier has been inactive for the first three games of his NFL career as a healthy scratch. However, coach Pete Carroll now appears comfortable enough to give him the green light. The rookie will provide depth at defensive end and presumably help contribute on special teams.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Remains healthy scratch

Collier (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 3 tilt against the Saints. The 2019 first-round pick will have to wait at least another week to make his NFL debut. Collier had previously dealt with an ankle injury, but he'd been cleared to play ahead of the Week 2 tilt against the Steelers last Sunday.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Practices fully Thursday

Collier (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Collier's full participation Thursday is a step in the right direction, as he was limited in Wednesday's practice. The 24-year-old has been nursing an ankle injury since the start of training camp, but he seems to be on track to suit up Sunday against Pittsburgh.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Pushing for Week 1 debut

Collier said Tuesday that he has a legitimate chance to be ready for Week 1 as he nurses a sprained ankle, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Collier was carted off the field during last Tuesday's practice and was diagnosed with a "badly sprained" ankle. As noted by Rapoport, a source with the team told him that the sprain is actually on the top of his foot, which isn't as serious as a high-ankle sprain. Expect the team to update their 2019 first-round pick's status as Week 1 approaches, but in Collier's stead, Nazir Jones should continue to take increased reps with the first team.

  • Seahawks' L.J. Collier: Managing ankle sprain

Coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that Collier will remain sidelined for multiple weeks due to a "badly sprained ankle," Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. A specific timetable for Collier's return remains undisclosed, but it appears possible that his absence could extend over the entire preseason and possibly into the regular season. Carroll called Collier's sprain "rare" and "unusual," making it increasingly difficult to estimate a possible return date. With Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder) also nursing an injury, Nazir Jones appears primed for increased reps with the first team.
