Martrell Spaight: Hangs up the cleats
Spaight was placed on the reserve/retired list Monday, Charles Goldman of USA Today reports.
Spaight's career comes to an end after four seasons in the league with the Redskins, Dolphins, Jaguars and Chiefs. The linebacker dealt with concussion issues throughout his time in Washington. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs in early January.

Martrell Spaight: Waived by Jaguars
Spaight was waived by Jacksonville on Friday, Phillip Heilman of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Spaight suited up for three games with the Jaguars since signing with the team Nov. 4, playing 32 special-teams snaps during that stretch. The 25-year-old linebacker will search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Jaguars' Martrell Spaight: Joins Jacksonville
Spaight agreed to a deal with Jaguars on Tuesday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Spaight was waived by the Dolphins on Nov. 9 after failing to play a snap for the team. The 25-year-old linebacker has 105 tackles and one interception in his career, and will likely be solely a depth option at linebacker for the Jaguars.

Martrell Spaight: Let go by Miami
Spaight was waived by the Dolphins on Friday, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Spaight did not play a single snap for the Dolphins this season and was waived to make room for Isaac Asiata on Miami's 53-man roster. If the four-year pro goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll be free to search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Spaight's third season was up-and-down but he finished on a strong note with 29 tackles over the final three games of the season. The inconsistency made him a difficult to trust IDP option, which included six games with two tackles or less. Spaight was held out of practice Wednesday with an ankle injury and an illness.
Spaight has been nursing the ankle issue since late November, but has only missed one game as a result. The illness is a newer concern for the linebacker, but so long as he's able to return to practice in some capacity Thursday and Friday, Spaight will have a good shot at suiting up Sunday against the Giants. With inside linebacker Zach Brown (knee/Achilles) missing the Redskins' last two games -- and trending toward a third absence in Week 17 -- Spaight has picked up extra snaps and generated 16 tackles over that span.

Spaight turned in his most productive outing of the season in the Week 8 loss to the Cowboys with seven tackles across 53 snaps, but he came out of the contest nursing the shoulder injury.
