Logan Ryan: Announces retirement
Ryan announced his retirement from the NFL via his personal Twitter/X account Tuesday.
Ryan is calling it a career after 11 seasons in the NFL, a span highlighted by two Super Bowl victories during his tenure with New England. After leaving New England as a free agent in 2017, Ryan inked with Tennessee where he earned the distinction of catching Tom Brady's last pass as a member of the Patriots, a game-sealing pick-six to secure the Titans a wild-card round victory in during the 2019 season. Ryan also suited up for the Giants, Buccaneers and 49ers, where with the latter team he made an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII.

49ers' Logan Ryan: Good to go for playoffs
Ryan (groin) did not carry an injury designation on Thursday's injury report and will be available for the divisional-round matchup versus Green Bay on Saturday, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Ryan popped up as a non-participant with a groin injury during practice Tuesday. The 32-year-old then participated in a limited fashion Wednesday before upgrading to a full participant Thursday. The veteran safety, who tallied 11 tackles while playing every defensive snap over the final two weeks of the regular season, will now be available to play in Saturday's divisional-round matchup. Ryan will likely once again see significant playing time alongside fellow safeties Ji'Ayir Brown and Tashaun Gipson.

49ers' Logan Ryan: Back at practice Wednesday
Ryan (groin) was a limited participant at the 49ers' practice Wednesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Ryan missed the team's first practice session of the week Tuesday, but his ability to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity, is a step in the right direction for his chances to play Saturday versus the Packers. The safety will look to increase his workload at San Francisco's final session of the week Friday before its matchup with Green Bay in the divisional round.

49ers' Logan Ryan: Not practicing Tuesday
Ryan (groin) did not participate at practice Tuesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Ryan played a season-high 62 defensive snaps in San Francisco's regular-season finale, and it's not clear when he picked up the groin injury. Either way, he'll probably have to practice Wednesday or Thursday to have a chance to suit up Saturday.

49ers' Logan Ryan: Finds new home
Ryan signed with the 49ers on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Ryan suited up nine times for the Buccaneers in 2022 but remained a free agent until now. The veteran safety, who also has had stints with the Giants, Titans and Patriots, should bolster the depth in San Francisco's secondary, which recently lost Talanoa Hufanga (knee) and George Odum (biceps) to significant injuries.

Buccaneers' Logan Ryan: Active for wild-card matchup
Ryan (knee) is active for Monday's wild-card matchup against Dallas, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Ryan missed the regular-season finale due to a knee injury and was listed as questionable for the wild-card matchup, but despite the injury designation, he appeared to be trending in the right direction after logging a full practice Friday. The veteran safety has been officially cleared for game action and should rotate in as a rover in Tampa Bay's defensive backfield, which is without Keanu Neal (hip) for the Monday night matchup.
