Report: 'Several current Jets' not happy about Tim Tebow to New York trade

According to a report, "several current Jets expressed disbelief" about Tim Tebow being traded to New York.

Perhaps you've heard already: Tim Tebow's been traded to the New York Jets. Like everything Tim Tebow related, some people hate it, some people love it, and everyone has an opinion.

Antonio Cromartie recently made his opinion known, before backtracking on said opinion. But he's not the only Jet who isn't thrilled: according to Brian Costello of the New York Post, there are many current players not happy about the move.

"All of the attention on Tebow has some Jets shaking their heads," Costello writes. "Several current Jets, who spoke with The Post on Saturday, asked not to be quoted but expressed disbelief at the team bringing in Tebow. The idea of a backup quarterback having a press conference is something they can't wrap their heads around, and they know it's just the beginning."

The beauty of the Jets is that they appear to be filled with never-ending, nasty and anonymous quotes about anyone else on the roster. It wasn't that long ago (just over three months, actually) that various members of the Jets ripped Mark Sanchez in public.

And Costello's piece -- titled "Some Jets wary of Tebow circus" -- also contains quotes from former members of the Jets organization. Damien Woody and Eric Mangini, both now working for ESPN, and they're significantly more specific. Of course, they also have names attached to them, and there's also an inherent benefit to keeping the Tebow media circus rolling (programming!).

Perhaps the comparison of Sanchez and Tebow is best made by Joe Montana in Sunday's New York Daily News.

“Mark is a better player right now and that’s it,” Montana wrote in an email to Gary Myers of the Daily News. "As long as Mark believes in himself and plays, it’s not an issue. It’s more of an issue for those of you who write, or blog or tweet and all the other methods of delivering content."

The one problem there: if Sanchez doesn't believe in himself, Tebowmania's going to take hold. The only question then will be how long it takes the rest of the Jets to get on the bandwagon.
