Shiancoe is finally drawing some interest on the free agent market. (US Presswire)

Since Brett Favre left Minnesota, we haven’t heard much from tight end Visanthe Shiancoe. With Favre throwing him the ball in 2009, Shiancoe had career highs with 56 catches and 11 touchdowns, and in 2010, he put together a respectable season with 47 receptions and 530 yards.

But in the past two seasons, his touchdown catches have fallen off dramatically (two in 2010 and three last year), and though he ranked No. 1 (!) in our tight end free agent list -- to be fair, it was a pretty weak tight end class -- there hasn’t been much interest in Shiancoe.

That might be changing, however, as CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora reports that Shiancoe will visit the Eagles on Tuesday. On Friday, La Canfora writes, Shiancoe also visited the Patriots, who obviously are gunning for every free agent on which they possibly can get their hands.

Shiancoe is 32 years old, but it’s possible he could find some room to back up Eagles starting tight end Brent Celek. The only bad part for Shiancoe: Brett Favre most likely won’t be suiting up in Philadelphia this year.
