  • Clippers' Daniel Theis: Scores in double figures

Theis provided 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists over 15 minutes during Thursday's 120-114 loss to the Warriors. Theis scored in double figures for the second time this season. With Mason Plumlee (knee) sidelined, Theis has garnered a solid role as the primary backup to Ivica Zubac, averaging 7.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.9 blocks in 17.4 minutes over his last seven appearances.

  • Clippers' Daniel Theis: Another strong performance

Theis totaled eight points (4-11 FG), 11 rebounds and four assists across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 109-102 win over San Antonio. Theis appears to be a great fit for the Clippers. With Mason Plumlee (knee) sidelined, Theis has slid into the backup center role behind Ivica Zubac and is flourishing in limited work. Over the last two games, Theis has totaled 27 points (12-21 FG), 18 rebounds, six assists and one steal in 41 minutes. Theis isn't expected to push Zubac for the starting role, so the former's fantasy value remains limited, though the recent production is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

  • Clippers' Daniel Theis: Rejuvenated in win

Theis recorded 19 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes during Monday's 124-99 victory over the Spurs. In his second game with the Clippers, Theis boomed during Monday's blowout victory. The lopsided nature of the contest led to additional opportunities for the 31-year-old center, but it was nonetheless an impressive showing as he continues acclimating to a new team. Expecting relevant fantasy output isn't advised, but Theis fills a critical backup center role for the Clippers while Mason Plumlee (knee) is out.

  • Clippers' Daniel Theis: Inks deal with Clippers

The Clippers signed Theis on Friday, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports. After hardly seeing any playing time in Indiana, Theis and the Pacers were able to agree to a contract buyout earlier in the week. Now, the veteran big man will likely serve as the backup center to Ivica Zubac in Los Angeles, with Mason Plumlee (knee) out for an extended period. Theis is expected to be available for Friday's game versus the Rockets.

  • Daniel Theis: Reaches buyout with Indiana

Theis and the Pacers agreed to a contract buyout Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Theis had appeared in just one game this season and was multiple absences away from being part of the rotation in Indiana, given that the Pacers already have Myles Turner, Jalen Smith, Isaiah Jackson and two-way rookie Oscar Tshiebwe on hand as available options at center. Assuming Theis clears waivers, Wojnarowski relays that the 31-year-old is expected to sign with the Clippers. He could step in as the primary backup in LA behind Ivica Zubac while Mason Plumlee (knee) is likely out until at least January.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Expected to be bought out

Theis and the Pacers are in talks for a contract buyout Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. If the buyout goes through, Charania notes that the Clippers are already poised to scoop him up pending a physical exam. The Clippers have very little frontcourt depth due to Mason Plumlee's knee injury, so Theis would likely get some rotation minutes in Los Angeles.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Out Tuesday due to personal matter

Theis is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the 76ers due to a personal matter. Theis has appeared in just one of the Pacers' first 10 games of the season, making an eight-minute cameo off the bench in a 126-124 win over the Bucks last Thursday. His absence Tuesday shouldn't affect coach Rick Carlisle's rotation.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Back to bench

Theis won't start Monday's preseason game against the Hawks. Theis will shift back to a bench role with Myles Turner available. The veteran Theis is competing with Jalen Smith and Isaiah Jackson for backup minutes behind Turner.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Gets starting nod

Theis (rest) is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Rockets, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Theis will return to action Tuesday after missing the team's preseason opener while resting. Theis will replace Myles Turner in the starting lineup against Houston.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Out Sunday

Theis (rest) won't play in Sunday's preseason game against the Grizzlies, Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files reports. Theis is sitting out for the team's preseason opener, likely as a way to ease him into the season after participating in the World Cup over the offseason. At this point, it is unclear how much work Theis will see during the preseason.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Absent from injury report

Theis (thumb) isn't listed on the Pacers' injury report for Thursday's matchup against the Celtics. Theis was sidelined for the Pacers' final game before the All-Star break due to a thumb injury, but he appears to have benefitted from the time off and should be available Thursday. Before his absence, he'd appeared in six of Indiana's past seven games and averaged 6.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.3 minutes.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Ruled out

Theis (thumb) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Bulls, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports. Theis presumably suffered the right thumb sprain during Monday's loss to Utah and will have to sit out the Pacers' final contest before the All-Star break due to the issue. Myles Turner (back) has been cleared, so Isaiah Jackson figures to operate as the primary backup behind Turner versus Chicago. Theis' next chance to suit up will come Feb. 23 against Boston.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Questionable vs. Bulls

Theis is questionable for Wednesday's tilt against the Bulls due to a sprained right thumb. The Pacers could be shorthanded in the frontcourt Wednesday, as Myles Turner (back) is also questionable. Absences to one or both centers could mean more minutes for Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Starting Monday

Theis will start at center in Monday's game against the Jazz, Tony East of SI.com reports. Theis sat out Saturday's loss to Washington due to right knee injury management, but he's available and will draw his first start of the season with Myles Turner (back) sidelined. Theis has averaged 6.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per game over his five appearances this season.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Good to go Monday

Theis (right knee injury mangement) isn't listed on the Pacers' injury report and should be available for Monday's game against the Jazz. As anticipated, Theis will be good to go for the start of the Pacers' three-game week to close out the first half slate after he rested during Saturday's loss to the Wizards in the second leg of a back-to-back set. Since making his season debut earlier this month, Theis has settled in as the top backup to Myles Turner, but Theis could get the chance to start Monday if Turner -- who is listed as questionable with lower-back soreness -- is unable to play.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Out for rest Saturday

Theis is out Saturday against the Wizards due to right knee injury management. Theis has appeared in five straight games -- including one back-to-back -- since making his season debut after recovering from a knee injury. Understandably, the organization will give him a game off, and he should be back for Monday's matchup against the Jazz. Isaiah Jackson could see more run Saturday.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Available to play

Theis (knee) is available to play Sunday against Cleveland. Theis will be available for a third consecutive matchup despite his knee injury. He's averaged 11.5 minutes per game over his first two appearances of the season, which hasn't been enough floor time for him to impact most fantasy leagues.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Could rest Sunday

Theis is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Cavaliers due to right knee injury management. Surprisingly, Theis played in the Pacers' Thursday-Friday back-to-back despite those two games being his first appearances of the year. However, he may rest Sunday, giving him an extended break until the Pacers play again Wednesday against the Heat.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Plays as primary backup

Theis ended Friday's 107-104 victory over the Kings with eight points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 15 minutes. Theis played 15 minutes off the bench Friday, soaking up all of the available backup center minutes. While this isn't really relevant from a standard league perspective, it is interesting that both Jalen Smith and Isaiah Jackson were out of the rotation. Jackson has been the focus of much discussion lately, specifically centered around his stash value heading into the trade deadline. This is certainly not an encouraging sign, although he could still be worth holding given the deadline is only a matter of days away.

  • Pacers' Daniel Theis: Available against Kings

Theis (knee) is available for Friday's game against Sacramento, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports. Theis was limited to just seven minutes during his season debut Thursday, but it's encouraging that he'll be able to suit up for the second half of the Pacers' back-to-back set. Despite his availability, his workload will presumably be monitored once again Friday.
