Finney-Smith accumulated 15 points (5-8 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four steals, one assist and one block across 38 minutes during Sunday's 122-120 win over the Nuggets. The four steals were a season high for Finney-Smith, but he's had busy hands since joining the Nets, recording multiple pilfers in four of the last nine games. Over that stretch, the veteran forward is averaging 8.0 points, 4.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.8 threes and 1.3 steals.... See More ... See Less

Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Scoreless in limited action
Finney-Smith notched zero points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and three rebounds in 11 minutes during Thursday's 118-113 loss to the Bucks. Finney-Smith went scoreless across limited action during Thursday's five-point loss to Milwaukee, as head coach Jacque Vaughn benched his starting five. The undrafted product out of Florida has struggled since joining the Nets, posting just 6.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists with 32/23/67 shooting splits, but he figures to see more minutes in future tilts.... Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Scores 17 points in win
Finney-Smith totaled 17 points (6-15 FG, 5-11 3Pt), nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 38 minutes during Friday's 115-105 win over Boston. This outburst could help Finney-Smith gain momentum, as he's been struggling since joining the Nets. In eight previous games with Brooklyn, Finney-Smith was averaging just 6.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 three-pointers on 34.5 percent shooting from the field.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Starting Thursday
Finney-Smith will start against the Bulls on Thursday, Alec Sturm of NetsDaily.com reports. In his first game with Brooklyn, Finney-Smith will start alongside Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Thomas, Royce O'Neale and Day'Ron Sharpe. Joe Harris and Ben Simmons will likely see minutes off the bench in relief of Finney-Smith.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Making team debut Thursday
Finney-Smith (coach's decision) was left off the injury report for Thursday's game versus the Bulls. After being held out of games Monday and Tuesday after his trade from the Mavericks was finalized, Finney-Smith will be available to make his Brooklyn debut Thursday. Finney-Smith averaged 9.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 32.2 minutes across 40 games for the Mavericks, but he may struggle to reach that level of playing time with his new team.... Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Won't debut Tuesday
Finney-Smith is out Tuesday against the Suns due to "coach's decision," Alec Sturm of NetsDaily.com reports. Finney-Smith was initially expected to make his Nets debut Tuesday, but there's been a change of plans, and the same goes for Spencer Dinwiddie. Both players should be expected to suit up Thursday against the Bulls.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Likely to dress Tuesday
Finney-Smith is expected to be available to make his Brooklyn debut in Tuesday's game against Phoenix, Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com reports. Brooklyn hasn't officially commented on the statuses of Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie for Tuesday's contest, but after their acquisitions were finalized Monday, the shorthanded Nets could benefit from having both players available in some capacity for the second half of a back-to-back set. Because he hasn't yet gone through a full practice with the Nets, Finney-Smith may come off the bench Tuesday and/or have his playing time managed to some extent. With his new organization, Finney-Smith faces a murkier path to claiming the 30-plus-minute starting role that he enjoyed in Dallas. When Kevin Durant (knee) likely returns shortly before or after the All-Star break, the Nets will have to decide between Finney-Smith, Ben Simmons, Royce O'Neale, Joe Harris and Seth Curry (adductor) to fill two spots in the starting five, barring any other major personnel changes to the roster ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.... Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Unlikely to play Monday
Finney-Smith (recently traded) isn't expected to make his Nets debut Monday against the Clippers, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports. Per Schiffer, the blockbuster trade between Brooklyn and Dallas isn't official as of Monday morning, and even if the deal is finalized later in the day, Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie aren't expected to suit up versus Los Angeles. The Nets play again Tuesday against Phoenix, which may also be too quick of a turnaround, so it's certainly possible the duo isn't available for their new team until Thursday's matchup against the Bulls.... Nets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Dealt to Brooklyn in blockbuster
The Nets acquired Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, a 2029 unprotected first-round pick and 2027 and 2029 second-round picks from the Mavericks on Sunday in exchange for Kyrie Irving (calf) and Markieff Morris (knee), Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Brooklyn didn't have much leverage in trade negotiations for Irving given his off-court baggage along with the fact that he was bound for free agency after the season, so getting back two rotation players in Finney-Smith and Dinwiddie plus a first-round pick represents a decent return for the eight-time All-Star. With the move to the Nets, Finney-Smith should temporarily settle into a starting role at forward, but he could lose out on a spot on the top unit as soon as the Nets have both Kevin Durant (knee) and Ben Simmons (knee) available. Whenever he's on the court, Finney-Smith is unlikely to serve as much more than a low-usage perimeter shooter on offense who's capable of chipping in in the two defensive categories.... See More ... Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Solid output in win
Finney-Smith supplied 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 34 minutes during Thursday's 111-106 win over the Pelicans. Finney-Smith scored in double digits for the fourth time over his last five contests, and while he's not expected to record big scoring numbers regularly, he's been playing well of late. The defensive-minded forward missed 14 games between mid-December and mid-January due to a hip injury, but he's averaging 10.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game since returning to action.... Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Records double-double
Finney-Smith closed with 18 points (7-16 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Thursday's 99-95 win over the Suns. Finney-Smith wasn't exactly efficient from three-point range and needed 16 shots to score 18 points, but he recorded his first double-double of the season while also putting up a season-high mark in the rebounds category. Finney-Smith missed 14 straight games between late December and mid-January, but he has looked decent since returning to the hardwood. The veteran has scored in double digits in three of his five appearances since returning to action.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Big minutes, small production
Finney-Smith recorded eight points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), four rebounds, one block and one steal over 38 minutes during Sunday's 112-98 loss to the Clippers. Finney-Smith saw plenty of playing time in the loss but was unable to turn it into tangible fantasy production. Despite being a key piece for the Mavericks, Finney-Smith has been unable to replicate what he did last season and is currently sitting well outside the top 150 for the year. He is certainly someone to keep an eye on given his role, but based on what we have seen thus far, streaming his spot could be more productive.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Starting in return Wednesday
Finney-Smith (hip) will start Wednesday's game against the Hawks, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. Finney-Smith is set for his first appearance since injuring his hip in mid-December, falling a day short of reaching an entire month on the sidelines. He will resume his starting duties upon his return, seemingly suggesting he's in line for a reasonable number of minutes. However, given Finney-Smith's extended absence, it still wouldn't be surprising if he's slightly limited in his return.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: In line to suit up Wednesday
Finney-Smith (hip) is expected to return to action Wednesday versus the Hawks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Finney-Smith is officially listed as questionable for the contest, but it appears the team is preparing for him to retake the floor. Finney-Smith hasn't logged game action since Dec. 19 against the Timberwolves, so he could have some limitations in terms of minutes and may need to knock off some rust. Even if neither of those is true, Finney-Smith hasn't produced at a level this season worthy of fantasy usage in most formats, so his return shouldn't mean a ton on that front.... See More ... Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Questionable against Atlanta
Finney-Smith (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Hawks. Finney-Smith may return to the lineup Wednesday after missing the previous 14 games with a right adductor strain. If he's unable to suit up against Atlanta, his injury designation is a good sign he will be able to play soon.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Hopes to play Wednesday
Finney-Smith (hip) went through a full practice Tuesday and said he hopes to play Wednesday against the Hawks, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports. Finney-Smith hasn't played since Dec. 19 due to a right adductor strain, but he logged his first full practice Tuesday since suffering the issue and appears close to returning to game action. More clarity on his availability should surface when Dallas releases its next injury report.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Still out
Finney-Smith (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Portland. Finney-Smith hasn't play since Dec. 19 due to a right adductor strain and will miss at least one additional contest. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday against the Hawks.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Won't play Saturday
Finney-Smith (hip) is out for Saturday's game versus the Trail Blazers. Finney-Smith will miss his thirteenth straight game Saturday with a right adductor strain. His next chance to play is Sunday's rematch with Portland, although he remains without a set return timetable.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Remains out Thursday
Finney-Smith (hip) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against the Lakers. Finney-Smith hasn't played since Dec. 19 due to a right adductor strain. It's unclear when the defensive-minded forward will return, but Dallas appears content with handling his status game-by-game. Finney-Smith's next chance to suit up will come Saturday against Portland.... See More ... See Less -
Mavericks' Dorian Finney-Smith: Sidelined at least two more weeks
Dallas head coach Jason Kidd said Tuesday that Finney-Smith (hip) will remain at for at least another couple of weeks, NBA writer Marc Stein reports. Finney-Smith's hip issue has prevented him from taking the court in any of the last three games, and that will be the case again for at least a handful more. The team should provide an updated timeline for Finney-Smith's return once he's back practicing again, but he's looking at a mid-January return based on the current framing.... See More ... See Less
