Pangos signed a three-year contract Wednesday with Russian club CSKA Moscow, EuroLeagueBasketball.net reports. Pangos' move back to Europe was fully expected after the Cavaliers officially waived him over the weekend. The 28-year-old's foray into the NBA didn't go as well as he had hoped, with Pangos averaging just 1.6 points and 1.3 assists in 6.9 minutes per contest while appearing in 24 of the Cavaliers' 58 games. He'll most likely stay overseas for the remainder of his career.... See More ... See Less

Kevin Pangos: Cut by Cavs
The Cavaliers waived Pangos on Saturday. Pangos signed with Cleveland in September following a productive run in Europe the past few seasons, but he wasn't able to translate his success to the NBA level. Even when a path to more playing time opened up in late December when Ricky Rubio suffered a season-ending ACL tear, Pangos couldn't gain much traction in Cleveland's rotation. Pangos hadn't appeared in any of Cleveland's last three games and ends his time with the Cavaliers with averages of 1.6 points and 1.3 assists in 6.9 minutes per contest over 24 appearances. According to Eurohoops.net, Pangos is expected to return overseas and join up with Russian powerhouse CSKA Moscow.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Likely to part ways with Cavs
The Cavaliers are expected to release Pangos in the coming days, as the 29-year-old guard is rumored to have an agreement in place with Russian club CSKA Moscow, Eurohoops.net reports. After a standout season with Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2020-21 in which he was named a first-team all-EuroLeague member, Pangos made the jump to the NBA. He signed a two-year deal with the Cavaliers ahead of training camp and was able to win a spot on the opening night roster, but Pangos has largely been an afterthought for Cleveland even after Ricky Rubio (knee) suffered a season-ending injury in late December before being traded to the Pacers on Monday. Pangos has appeared in just 23 of the Cavs' 54 games to date, averaging only 7.2 minutes per contest. The Cavaliers will presumably gauge interest in Pangos from other NBA teams ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, but if he isn't moved, expect his release to come shortly thereafter.... See More ... Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Serviceable during G League return
Pangos logged eight points (3-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt), eight assists, six rebounds and one steal across 35 minutes during Saturday's 98-82 loss to the Grand Rapids Gold. Despite not making most of his field goals Saturday, Pangos compensated for it by logging more assists than any other Charge player and limiting turnovers (two) while doing so. The 29-year-old is likely their primary point guard if he continues to play G League games during February.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Assigned to G League
Pangos was assigned to the G League's Cleveland Charge on Friday, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports. Russo reports that Pangos will suit up for the Charge when they face the Grand Rapids Gold on Friday. In his only other G League contest this season, Pangos totaled 22 points, seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block in 37 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Back to bench
Pangos will come off the bench Tuesday against the Grizzlies, Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. With Darius Garland returning from protocols, Pangos will resume a bench role. In his past five appearances off the bench, he's averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 assists in 9.6 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Unimpressive in first start
Pangos chipped in two points (1-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds and six assists in 24 minutes during Thursday's 110-93 loss to Washington. Pangos moved into the starting lineup Thursday with Ricky Rubio (knee) out for the season and Darius Garland still in COVID-19 protocols. However, Pangos couldn't get much going offensively, making only one of his eight field-goal attempts and scoring only two points. The rookie guard did dish a team-high six assists, but that isn't likely to make up for the poor shooting and low scoring output in the minds of his fantasy managers. Pangos' starting role will last only as long as Garland's absence, so he shouldn't be a priority pickup in most fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Set to make first NBA start
Pangos will start Thursday's game against the Wizards, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports. With Ricky Rubio (knee) done for the season and Darius Garland in COVID-19 protocols, Pangos is the next man up for the shorthanded Cavs. The former Gonzaga standout has appeared in 15 games this season, logging mostly reduced minutes off the bench. But with Garland expected to miss at least the next three games, Pangos should be looking at an appreciable bump in minutes as the Cavs' only healthy true point guard.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Could see increased role ahead
Pangos had zero points (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across nine minutes during Tuesday's 108-104 loss to New Orleans. Pangos offered basically nothing in the victory but with Ricky Rubio (knee) going down with a potentially serious injury, he could be set for an increased role moving forward. To be clear, this does not mean he is anything more than a speculative add in deeper formats, given we have no base from which to work. If indeed Rubio is ruled out for any length of time, managers will want to keep an eye on the Cavaliers' guard rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Not on injury report
Pangos (personal) is not listed on the Cavs' injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against Portland. Pangos missed a few games while tending to a personal matter, but it looks like he's back with the team. The former Gonzaga standout has logged garbage-time minutes in three games thus far, but he's unlikely to be a fantasy contributor this season.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Out again
Pangos (personal) will not play Monday against the Hornets. The backup guard remains away from the team while dealing with a personal matter, but he's not a regular part of the rotation, so his absence won't carry any real fantasy ramifications.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Missing another game
Pangos (personal) is listed as out for Saturday's game against the Suns. Pangos will be away from the Cavaliers for a second straight game while he attends to a personal matter. The 28-year-old rookie hasn't been part of the Cavaliers' regular rotation this season, logging just eight minutes total over the five games in which he's suited up.... See More ... See Less -
Cavaliers' Kevin Pangos: Out Friday
Pangos (personal) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Lakers. Pangos has hardly played all season (2.7 minutes per game), so his absence shouldn't affect the Cavaliers' rotations. It's unclear if he will be back with the team for Saturday's matchup with the Lakers.... See More ... See Less
