The White Sox reassigned Perez to minor-league camp Monday. Though he was outrighted off the 40-man roster in January, Perez still received an invite to big-league camp as a non-roster invitee. Perez ultimately fell short in his battle for a spot on the White Sox's Opening Day squad, with all of Martin Maldonado, Max Stassi and Korey Lee clearly ahead of him in the pecking order at catcher.... White Sox's Carlos Perez: Outrighted to Charlotte
The White Sox sent Perez outright to Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports. After being DFA'd off the 40-man roster Saturday, Perez will officially remain in the White Sox's minor-league system to begin 2024. Perez has slashed just .209/.254/.343 across 71 career MLB plate appearances, but Chicago's weak catcher room leaves a slim chance for Perez to contribute in the majors at some point in the summer.... White Sox's Carlos Perez: Designated for assignment
The White Sox designated Perez for assignment Saturday. Perez's odds of making Chicago's Opening Day roster were already low following the addition of Martin Maldonado, and he'll officially be pushed off the 40-man to clear a spot for Chris Flexen. Perez should serve as organizational depth at Triple-A Charlotte, where he slashed .240/.295/.408 with 34 RBI across 312 plate appearances last season.... See More ... See Less -

White Sox's Carlos Perez: Sent to Triple-A
Perez was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, per the MLB's transactions log. Perez was promoted to the big leagues at the beginning of July and wasn't able to get much going at the dish. He went 1-for-11 with a double and an RBI, and he'll now head to the minors where he'll have a better chance to see consistent at-bats. The White Sox have yet to announce a corresponding move.... White Sox's Carlos Perez: Back in Chicago
The White Sox recalled Perez from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday. Perez was optioned to Charlotte after a brief stint with the White Sox in mid-May, and he's slashed .224/.292/.336 in the minors since then. Perez likely won't get much playing time in the majors behind Yasmani Grandal and Seby Zavala, though he can also play first base in a pinch. Adam Haseley was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Carlos Perez: Optioned to Triple-A

White Sox's Carlos Perez: Up as backup catcher
Perez was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. He may serve as the backup catcher for the rest of the season, as Seby Zavala was placed on the concussion injured list. Perez hit .254/.316/.450 with 21 home runs in 109 games at Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Carlos Perez: Called up to majors
The White Sox selected Perez's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. Perez will head to the big leagues for the first time in his career after a nine-year stay in the minors. The 25-year-old backstop is expected to settle in as the No. 2 option behind Seby Zavala, who will ascend to the No. 1 role with Yasmani Grandal (knee) landing on the injured list in a corresponding move. Perez produced a .257/.319/.446 slash line to go with 17 home runs and two stolen bases across 389 plate appearances for Charlotte in 2022.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Carlos Perez: Headed to majors
Perez will join the White Sox in Cleveland for Sunday's game, James Fegan of The Athletic reports. Yasmani Grandal suffered what appeared to be a significant knee injury in Saturday's game against the Guardians, which will force him to the injured list. Perez will make his big-league debut as a result, likely serving as the backup to Seby Zavala. Perez has managed a .259/.317/.448 slash line across 385 plate appearances with Triple-A Charlotte this season.... See More ... See Less
