Harris signed a minor-league contract with the Twins on Friday. Harris elected to enter free agency after being outrighted to Triple-A by the Nationals earlier in the offseason. The 30-year-old righty made his MLB debut last season, posting a 5.12 ERA and 1.76 WHIP through 19.1 frames, and he'll serve as organizational bullpen depth for the Twins.... See More ... See Less

Nationals' Hobie Harris: Outrighted to Triple-A
Harris cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Harris appeared in 16 games for the Nationals in 2023, posting a 5.12 ERA and 1.76 WHIP through 19.1 frames. He put up similar numbers during his time in Triple-A (5.57 ERA, 1.90 WHIP) and is set to become a minor-league free agent following the World Series.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Hobie Harris: Sent back to minors
The Nationals optioned Harris to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports. He'll turn over his spot on the 26-man active roster and in the Washington bullpen to left-hander Robert Garcia, whom the Nationals claimed off waivers from the Marlins on Tuesday. Harris was called up from Rochester on Monday and tossed a scoreless inning in relief during his two-day stay with the big club.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Hobie Harris: Making return to majors
The Nationals recalled Harris from Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports. Harris could be in line for a temporary stay with the big club, as he was called up as a replacement on the 26-man active roster for Trevor Williams (personal), who was placed on the bereavement list. Williams is expected to return from bereavement leave before his next turn in the rotation comes up this weekend in Cincinnati, so expect the Nationals to demote a reliever to Triple-A to make room for him at that time. Harris won a spot in Washington's Opening Day bullpen but was sent to Triple-A on May 20 after recording a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP across 18.1 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Hobie Harris: Sent to minors
Harris was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports. Harris, who turns 30 in June, made a big-league roster for the first time when he cracked the Nationals' Opening Day roster, but he hasn't impressed during his time with the team. In 18.1 innings, he's struck out nine batters and walked 12 while struggling to a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. Chad Kuhl (foot) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.... See More ... Nationals' Hobie Harris: Inks deal with Washington
Harris signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Monday, which includes an invitation to spring training, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Harris spent the 2022 campaign in the Brewers' organization pitching for Triple-A Nashville, posting a strong 2.04 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with a 56:28 K:BB across 53 innings. He'll look to improve upon his walks issued in 2023 and certainly has the potential to contribute out of the Nationals' bullpen if he can piece together an impressive spring camp.... See More ... LaVelle E. Neal III@LaVelleNeal5D agoPhone now charged. Here are thoughts on the Twins game. 1. Strike zone is tighter than the last loop on my belt. 2. Jo Adell is a terrible outfielder. 3. For the most part, Twins taking competitive at-bats. 4. Paddock should be grateful for the offense.
