The Cardinals recalled Fermin from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Fermin was off to a fantastic start with Memphis, slashing .350/.458/.650 with four home runs, five steals and a 3:11 K:BB over 18 games. The 25-year-old will offer utility infield depth for the Cardinals, and it's possible he gets some starts at second base against lefties.... See More ... See Less

Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Optioned to Triple-A
The Cardinals optioned Fermin to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Fermin was the team's final roster cut ahead of Opening Day. The 24-year-old should be used as a utility infielder at Memphis.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Three-hit effort Friday
Fermin went 3-for-3 in Friday's Grapefruit League win over the Mets. Fermin's big game has him hitting .385 (5-for-13) over six spring games. The 24-year-old projects as a utility infielder if he makes the Cardinals' big-league roster out of camp. Fermin had limited success last year, batting .235 with a .594 OPS across 61 plate appearances. With established options at most, if not all, of the infield positions, Fermin's playing time is unlikely to be significant barring injuries to other players.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Fermin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers. Fermin is 5-for-18 with a walk and no extra-base hits in six games since being promoted from Triple-A Memphis in early September. The 24-year-old has seen more action of late with Nolan Arenado (back) shut down for the final stretch of the season, though it's Juniel Querecuto starting at third base Wednesday.... See More ... Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Out of Sunday's lineup
Fermin is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at San Diego, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Fermin finds himself on the bench for the second straight game after he started the previous three contests. The 24-year-old has a .497 OPS in 43 plate appearances this season and should continue to see opportunities during the final week with Nolan Arenado (back) shut down.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Summoned to big leagues

Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Recalled from Triple-A
The Cardinals recalled Fermin from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday. The Cardinals had plenty of holes to fill after unloading their roster prior to Tuesday's trade deadline, and Fermin will come up from Memphis to provide depth in St. Louis' infield. The 24-year-old is slashing .200/.347/.450 through 49 plate appearances in Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Activated off minor-league IL
Fermin (quad) was activated from the injured list Monday at Triple-A Memphis. Fermin missed the first couple months of the 2023 season due to a severe quad strain, but he's all set now to become a regular for Memphis following a 10-game rehab stint between the Florida Complex League and Low-A Palm Beach. St. Louis acquired the 24-year-old infielder from Cleveland over the winter in exchange for cash considerations. He slashed .215/.336/.322 with six homers and nine steals in 90 games last year at Triple-A Columbus.... See More ... See Less -
Indians' Jose Fermin: Active again at Double-A
Double-A Akron activated Fermin (hamstring) from the 7-day injured list Sunday. Fermin was sidelined for approximately two weeks with a low-grade left hamstring strain. The 22-year-old infielder was hitting .268 with zero home runs and one stolen base in 162 plate appearances for Akron prior to landing on the IL.... See More ... See Less -
Indians' Jose Fermin: Hits injured list at Double-A Akron
Fermin was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Akron with a left hamstring strain Sunday. The 22-year-old infielder has put together a solid .268/.365/.326 slash line with 13 RBI, 21 runs scored and one stolen base across 162 plate appearances. Fermin has appeared to be more of a contact hitter in the lower levels of the minor leagues, and he's shown a good eye at the plate with a 9.2 percent walk rate compared to a 7.4 percent strikeout rate this year....
