Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Homers in win
Manzardo went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 6-2 win over the White Sox.
Manzardo's sixth-inning homer was the game-winning hit, breaking a 2-2 tie. The round-tripper was his 14th of the season. It was a rare highlight for Manzardo (.217 batting average), and his first RBI in 10 contests. He continues to share the DH role with David Fry, and neither one is making a case to claim full-time at-bats.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Rejoins active roster
The Guardians reinstated Manzardo from the family medical emergency list Thursday.
Manzardo will rejoin the team after missing the minimum of three games while tending to a personal matter. He should slide right back into his usual spot as Cleveland's DH versus right-handers, whom he is slashing .220/.292/.402 against this season. Jhonkensy Noel was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Goes on family emergency list
The Guardians placed Manzardo on the family medical emergency list Monday.
By rule, Manzardo must miss the team's next three games and a maximum of seven contests. The Guardians could mix and match at designated hitter against right-handed pitching until Manzardo returns to the lineup.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Resting Saturday
Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.
After going 0-for-5 in Friday's series opener, Manzardo will take a day off to regroup while Jose Ramirez works as Cleveland's DH. Daniel Schneemann will move to third base as a result, and Angel Martinez will start at second.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting in third straight vs. LHP
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
The Guardians are facing a lefty (Shota Imanaga) for the third game in a row, and the left-handed-hitting Manzardo has been excluded from the lineup for all of those contests. David Fry will get another start at designated hitter Wednesday at Manzardo's expense.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against lefty
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
With southpaw Matthew Liberatore on the bump for the Cardinals, Manzardo will join fellow left-handed hitters Bo Naylor, Daniel Schneemann and Nolan Jones on the bench. David Fry will replace Manzardo as the Guardians' designated hitter.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Pokes homer in win
Manzardo went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to Toronto.
Manzardo entered as a pinch hitter for David Fry in the seventh and finished the game at designated hitter. He eventually launched his 12th home run of the season -- and first in 13 games -- in the ninth inning. Manzardo had a nice start to the season as the team's primary DH -- he homered eight times and had a .557 slugging percentage through the first 26 contests -- but he has since lost playing time to Fry as his power stroke has waned. Since April 30, Manzardo has just four home runs and is slugging .378 over 41 games.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Falling into platoon at DH
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.
The left-handed-hitting Manzardo has produced a .947 OPS in 40 plate appearances versus lefties this season, but he'll likely find himself on the bench more frequently against southpaws while the Guardians have plenty of right-handed bats available off the bench. David Fry will replace Manzardo at designated hitter in Wednesday's series finale while the Reds send southpaw Nick Lodolo to the bump.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Taking seat against lefty
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
With southpaw Brandon Walter on the hill for the Astros, Manzardo will hit the bench for the series finale. Though he's produced a .206/.300/.647 slash line (155 wRC+) over 40 plate appearances versus lefties this season, Manzardo could have to settle for a strong-side platoon role at designated hitter with David Fry now off the IL.

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Yankees.
Manzardo's eighth-inning homer finished the scoring and snapped his 15-game long-ball drought. He'd entered the contest mired in a slump, batting .180 (9-for-50) with three RBI during that span. Manzardo is up to 11 home runs and 29 RBI while batting .211 over 54 games.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Starting Sunday after all
Manzardo will start at first base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Tigers.
The left-handed-hitting Manzardo was initially scheduled to receive the day off, but he'll end up having to face southpaw Tarik Skubal after the Guardians made Carlos Santana (leg) a late scratch. Manzando has a surprising 1.139 OPS against southpaws this season, albeit in only 34 plate appearances.

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against Skubal
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Manzardo has turned in a 204 wRC+ in a small sample of 34 plate appearances against southpaws this season, but the Guardians will still be selective with his usage versus same-handed pitching. With reigning Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal on the bump for Detroit, Manzardo will head to the bench and allow Jose Ramirez to get a partial rest as the designated hitter.
