  • Angels' Kodi Medeiros: Reaches deal with Halos

Medeiros signed a minor-league contract with the Angels on Tuesday.

A 2014 first-round pick of the Brewers, Medeiros boasts a lively arsenal, but command and control has been an issue at nearly all of his stops in the professional ranks and has resulted in a slow climb up the minor-league ladder. The 25-year-old lefty will now be on the move to his third different organization, after he had spent the past three years in the White Sox system. The Angels will likely assign him to either Double-A Rocket City or Triple-A Salt Lake to work as a reliever.

  • White Sox's Kodi Medeiros: Added to player pool

Medeiros was added to the White Sox's 60-man roster Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Medeiros was left out of the player pool for camp, but he'll now work at the team's alternate training site in Schaumburg going forward. The 24-year-old will be able to further his development as part of the alternate squad, but he's most likely to only serve as organizational depth this season.

  • White Sox's Kodi Medeiros: Outrighted to Triple-A

Medeiros cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

He will serve as organizational pitching depth after getting booted off the 40-man roster to make room for Dallas Keuchel.

  • White Sox's Kodi Medeiros: DFA'd by White Sox

Medeiros was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Thursday.

The 23-year-old was added to the 40-man roster after the 2018 season in order to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, but he'll now be removed in order to make room for Edwin Encarnacion. Medeiros has been stuck at the Double-A level over the past two seasons as he recorded a 5.10 ERA with a 75:51 K:BB over 83 innings with Double-A Birmingham in 2019.

  • White Sox's Kodi Medeiros: Sent to Double-A

Medeiros was optioned to Double-A Birmingham.

He has logged 137.2 innings at Double-A, but struggled with his control there last season, particularly after getting traded from the Brewers. In all likelihood, Medeiros will be a reliever in the big leagues, but the White Sox will continue to develop him as a starter for now.

  • White Sox's Kodi Medeiros: Joins 40-man roster

Medeiros had his contract purchased from Double-A Birmingham on Tuesday.

The White Sox added Medeiros -- a first-round pick in 2014 -- to their 40-man roster in order to protect the southpaw ahead of the Rule 5 draft. Medeiros was acquired from the Brewers in exchange for Joakim Soria in July and notched a combined 3.60 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 9.2 K/9 across 137.2 innings between Birmingham and Double-A Biloxi.

  • White Sox's Kodi Medeiros: Traded to White Sox

Mederios was sent to the White Sox alongside Wilber Perez in exchange for Joakim Soria on Thursday.

Medeiros has spent the entirety of the 2018 campaign with Double-A Biloxi, during which he's logged a 3.14 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 9.3 K/9 across 103.1 innings. The 2014 first-round pick has long been praised for his potential, but this season has been the first time he's ever provided on that promise. Look for him to continue at the Double-A level, with a chance at starting the 2019 campaign in Triple-A Charlotte if he continues to have success down the stretch in his new organization.

  • Brewers' Kodi Medeiros: Faring well at Double-A level

Medeiros is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 18:12 K:BB in 19 innings over four outings with Double-A Biloxi this season.

The Brewers promoted Medeiros to Double-A to begin the season even though he was not great at the High-A level in 2017, and he has made the decision look good early on. He is walking too many hitters -- an ongoing issue -- but opposing hitters are batting just .145 against him and he has not served up a home run.

  • Brewers' Kodi Medeiros: Scuffling at High-A

    Medeiros, 21, has a 5.27 ERA and 58:21 K:BB through 56.1 innings for High-A Carolina.

The strikeouts are nice, but Medeiros has allowed a few too many baserunners, resulting in a bloated ERA. In addition, he has been allowing fewer groundballs than ever before. In fact, he's already allowed as many home runs this season as he did all of 2016.

  • Brewers' Kodi Medeiros: Back in action for Brewers' High-A squad

Medeiros allowed one earned run over five innings in a start with High-A Brevard County on Monday.

Medeiros missed over two weeks while recovering from a nasty illness, but he was able to get back on the mound Monday and throw one of his best outings of the season. Medeiros still owns an unsightly 5.84 ERA on the season, but he lowered that mark by over a run in giving up just two earned runs over his last 10 innings.

  • Brewers' Kodi Medeiros: Rough start to High-A campaign

Medeiros is off to a rough start in his first go-around at the High-A level, posting a 9.19 ERA and 2.36 WHIP over his first four starts.

Medeiros is one of the youngest players in his league (the FSL), but that doesn't change the fact he is having trouble keeping runners off the bases and runs off the scoreboard. He is going through some growing pains, but the Brewers seem content with that for now.
