  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Beginning on bench Saturday

Soler isn't in the starting lineup Saturday against Baltimore. Soler missed two games recently due to a groin injury but returned to the lineup Tuesday and had started each of the Angels' previous three games entering Saturday, going 2-for-12 with two RBI and seven strikeouts during that span. There's no indication that the veteran outfielder has aggravated the groin issue, so for now his absence Saturday appears to be just a day off his feet. Recent acquisition LaMonte Wade is starting in right field against the Orioles in Soler's stead.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Back in action Tuesday

Soler (groin) will start in right field and bat fifth in Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. After missing two consecutive starts due to a groin issue that flared up Saturday, Soler will return to the Angels' starting nine Tuesday and aim to turn things around after going 2-for-17 to begin June.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Not in Monday's lineup

Soler (groin) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics. Soler aggravated a groin injury over the weekend and will miss a second straight start. He had been set to undergo additional testing Monday, and the results of that exam haven't been divulged. The Angels will need to clear a roster spot once LaMonte Wade reports to the team, which could come as soon as Tuesday. It's possible Soler going on the 10-day injured list will be that roster move, but for now he is considered day-to-day.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Set for additional testing

Soler, who is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, is going to get more tests Monday on his injured groin, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Soler first hurt his groin Wednesday against Boston but was back in the lineup Friday. However, the veteran slugger exited during the first inning Saturday due to a flare-up of the issue and remains on the bench for the series finale versus Seattle. Soler said Sunday that he doesn't know if he'll need to go on the IL, so Monday's tests should give a better idea of the severity of the issue.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Groin issue resurfaces

Soler was removed from Saturday's game against the Mariners due to groin tightness. Soler exited Wednesday's contest versus the Red Sox with groin tightness before returning to the lineup Friday, but he appears to have aggravated the injury Saturday. The Angels will likely exercise more caution after the second occurrence of the injury, and the veteran slugger should be considered day-to-day until the severity of the issue is disclosed.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Pulled Saturday

Soler exited Saturday's game against the Mariners after the first inning for unspecified reasons, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. There was no reason disclosed for Soler's removal. However, he dealt with groin tightness earlier in the week, so it's possible he aggravated the issue.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: In Friday's lineup

Soler (groin) is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Red Sox due to groin tightness, but it doesn't appear to be a lingering issue as he's back in the lineup for Friday's American League West clash. Soler has slashed .200/.279/.345 with two home runs and eight RBI in 61 plate appearances over his last 15 games.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Exits with tight groin

Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Red Sox due to groin tightness. Soler went 1-for-1 with a walk and a base hit before Matthew Lugo came on to replace him in right field in the bottom of the third inning. The severity of Soler's groin injury isn't yet known, and the Angels could send him in for further tests before an update on his status is provided ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Mariners.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Leaves with apparent injury

Soler was removed from Wednesday's game in Boston in the third inning with an undisclosed injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. The Angels haven't provided word on what exactly happened with Soler, but he was replaced by Matthew Lugo in right field before the bottom of the third inning. Soler had an infield single and drew a walk in his two plate appearances before departing. The Angels should have an update on his condition soon.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Smacks homer in victory

Soler went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a walk in Friday's 4-1 victory over the Angels. Soler has now had multiple hits in back-to-back games, including his eighth home run of the season Friday. The run production has really picked up in the last week or so for the 33-year-old, who is now up to 23 RBI on the season with seven of them coming in his last eight games.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Goes yard in Friday's win

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-4 win over the Marlins. Soler had not homered since May 1, but he supplied an insurance run in the eighth inning of this contest. During that power drought, Soler hit .194 and slugged just .242 over 17 games while adding a 9:19 BB:K. The 33-year-old is up to seven homers, 19 RBI, 20 runs scored, 10 doubles and a .227/.301/.407 slash line across 47 games this season as the Angels' primary designated hitter. He's also seen some time in right field to put a little pressure on Jo Adell for playing time.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Idle Tuesday

Soler isn't in the Angels' lineup against the Athletics on Tuesday. Soler has been struggling at the plate with a slash line of .133/.257/.133 across his last 35 plate appearances. The 33-year-old will get a chance to reset on the bench Tuesday as Logan O'Hoppe takes over as the designated hitter.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Rejoining lineup Sunday

Soler (groin) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Sunday's game against the Orioles. Soler was out of the lineup for the previous two games due to a groin injury, though the fact that he was deployed as a pinch hitter in Friday's 4-1 loss suggested that the Angels weren't too concerned about the issue. He'll take back his normal duties at DH in the series finale and should be in store for a full slate of starts during the Angels' upcoming six-game week.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Aiming to play Sunday

Soler (groin) is not in Saturday's starting lineup against the Orioles, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Soler was scratched from the lineup before Friday's game due to groin tightness (though he was able to pinch hit in the eighth inning), and he is aiming to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale, per Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com. Jo Adell will start in right field again and bat seventh against Orioles right-hander Kyle Gibson. Soler has gone 5-for-27 with one home run and five RBI since the beginning of May.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Produces walk-off hit

Soler went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and three RBI in a 5-4 win against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Soler played the hero Wednesday, coming through with a bases-clearing double in the ninth inning to give Los Angeles a walk-off win. With two hits in the contest, the veteran slugger snapped a streak of 17 straight games without a multi-hit performance. Soler batted just .154 during that stretch, and he entered Wednesday in a 1-for-15 funk, so his fantasy managers will hope that the walk-off heroics set him off in a more positive direction.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Goes deep again Thursday

Soler went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Tigers. Soler's two-run blast in the third inning helped the Angels take an early lead, but a late-game bullpen implosion led to the team's sixth straight loss. Soler began May the way he finished April -- with a long ball -- and he's now driven in at least one run in three straight contests. However, the veteran slugger has gone 13 consecutive games without a multi-hit effort and is batting just .180 with a 28.8 percent strikeout rate during that span.

Soler tied the game 2-2 with his solo shot in the third frame, but the Mariners went on to score seven of the game's final eight runs. The long ball snapped a 12-game homerless stretch for Soler, who batted .200 with a 29.2 percent strikeout rate during the power drought, though five of his nine hits were doubles. On the campaign, Soler is slashing .243/.304/.456 with five home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs over 115 plate appearances.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Receiving first day off

Soler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins. Soler started the Angels' first 26 games of the season, but he'll finally take a seat Sunday after going 1-for-13 in the previous three contests. Logan O'Hoppe will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Travis d'Arnaud starts behind the plate in the series finale.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Goes deep Sunday

Soler went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to Houston. All three of the Angels' runs in the contest came on solo homers, and Soler contributed with a blast to left field in the sixth inning. It was the fourth long ball of the season for the veteran outfielder, all of which have come in his past eight games. Soler has reached base safely in 10 straight contests and is slashing .270/.349/.622 with seven RBI during that stretch, though he also has a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in that span.

Soler has belted a home run in three of his last four outings and is on a six-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 6-for-22 with one walk, four runs scored, three home runs and five RBI.
