    MacKinnon had two goals and two assists Saturday in a 7-4 win over the Predators. MacKinnon moved into the NHL lead with 127 points, including 80 assists, one ahead of Bolts forward Nikita Kucherov. He also became the third player in Avalanche/Nordiques history to have 80 assists in a campaign, joining Peter Stastny (twice) and Peter Forsberg (once). Additionally, MacKinnon moved into second in franchise history for single-season points behind Stastny (139; 1981-82). His 19-game, 38-point scoring streak was snapped Thursday, but he's right back on the board, and Mack has every chance as well as the necessary momentum to best Stastny with eight contests remaining.

MacKinnon won a race to a loose puck, absorbed a hit along the boards, then made the zone entry that resulted in the first of Mikko Rantanen's three tallies. That's vintage MacKinnon. The assist extended his point streak to 16 games, which is his second longest this season. Earlier in the season MacKinnon had a 19-game scoring run and also a 14-gamer. He's also gotten onto the scoresheet in 32 straight home games to begin the season, tying him with Hall of Famer Guy Lafleur for the third-longest streak in league history. Wayne Gretzky set the record with 40 consecutive games in 1988-89 while playing for the Kings.
