Top Zach Charbonnet News

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Best game yet in NFL

Charbonnet carried the ball nine times for 46 yards and caught one of two targets for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 37-27 win over the Panthers.

The rookie running back nearly scored his first NFL touchdown on a 12-yard run in the red zone in the fourth quarter, but he was forced out of bounds at the two. It was Charbonnet's most productive game yet for Seattle, but he was still a distant second in usage and fantasy output to Kenneth Walker, who scored two rushing TDs for the second straight game and had more than double the touches. Charbonnet will look to build on this performance in Week 4 against a Giants defense that's allowed four rushing touchdowns to RBs through its first three games.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Six touches in overtime win

Charbonnet rushed four times for 16 yards and caught two passes on two targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 37-31 overtime win versus the Lions.

Charbonnet was still the clear No. 2 back behind Kenneth Walker, who totaled 54 yards and two touchdowns on 18 touches. The rookie has showcased his punishing running style through the first two games, and his pass-catching ability will provide upside if he can push for more snaps. For the time being, it will be difficult to trust Charbonnet in fantasy as long as Walker is dominating the snap count.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Notches three touches

Charbonnet rushed three times for 11 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Rams.

Kenneth Walker was the clear lead back with 12 carries for 64 yards while Charbonnet and DeeJay Dallas -- who produced 18 yards on three touches -- picked up the remaining backfield reps. Charbonnet was an effective pass-catcher in college, but he wasn't used at all in that capacity despite the lopsided outcome. It will be difficult to trust Charbonnet until he proves himself on the field. Next up, the Seahawks have a road matchup versus the Lions in Week 2.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Backup duties on tap

Charbonnet is listed as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart behind Kenneth Walker and DeeJay Dallas heading into Sunday's matchup versus the Rams.

It's a little surprising that Charbonnet is listed behind Dallas, but we aren't reading into that too much. Dallas hasn't recorded more than 55 touches in a season through three years in the league, and he's mostly a passing-down back anyway. The Seahawks will make sure Charbonnet -- their second-round pick -- sees his share sooner than later. Still, it wouldn't be surprising if Dallas began the year ahead of Charbonnet in passing situations. However, Charbonnet may eventually take over that role while also challenging Walker for a chunk of the early down work.
