Texans' Juice Scruggs: Managing leg injury
Scruggs sustained a leg injury during Sunday's preseason game against the Saints, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Following his early exit, Scruggs was held out of the remainder of the game as a precautionary measure, and it's unclear whether he'll be available for the Texans' regular-season opener against the Ravens on Sept. 10. If he's unavailable, Jimmy Morrissey could take on a starting role for Houston.

Texans' Juice Scruggs: Moves up depth chart
Scruggs replaced Scott Quessenberry (knee) during Thursday's practice session, Deepi Sidhu of the Texans' official site reports.
Quessenberry went down with a knee injury, which was later learned to be a torn ACL and MCL. That means Scruggs, the second-round selection out of Penn State in 2023 NFL Draft, moves to the top of the center depth chart. Houston poured a lot offseason dollars into its offensive line, which will now operate with a rookie at center.

Texans' Juice Scruggs: Beefs up Houston interior line
The Texans selected Scruggs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 62nd overall.
Scruggs (6-foot-3, 301 pounds) is expected to line up at center, where he already demonstrated a standout skill set at Penn State, but he should be able to play well from the guard spots too. Though a bit light, Scruggs has excellent reach on the interior (33 and 1/4-inch arms) and showed above-average athleticism with a 5.22-second 40 and especially his 32-inch vertical jump.
