The Steelers placed Gilbert (undisclosed) on the practice squad injured list Saturday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
His move to the list prohibits Gilbert from being elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the Steelers' next four regular-season games. He last saw NFL regular-season action in 2022 with the Giants, during which he logged 14 tackles (10 solo), including 1.0 sacks, across three games.

Zyon Gilbert: Tries out with Miami
Gilbert worked out with the Dolphins on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Gilbert has seemingly recovered from a hamstring injury suffered back in August. The 2022 undrafted free agent was waived from the Giants' injured reserve with a settlement in September and will now look to catch on with another team.

Zyon Gilbert: Waived with settlement
The Giants waived Gilbert (hamstring) from injured reserve with a settlement Thursday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Gilbert was placed on injured reserve after injuring his hamstring during the team's loss to the Jets on Saturday but will now have the opportunity to sign elsewhere. The 24-year-old signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent last year and logged 14 tackles (10 solo) and a sack in three games played.

Gilbert has been ruled out of the rest of Saturday's preseason game against the Jets after suffering a hamstring injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
The young cornerback appeared in three games last year for New York, recording 14 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack. He's spent majority of his NFL career on the Giants' practice squad after going undrafted in 2021 out of Florida Atlantic. Gilbert is most likely on the fringe of making the team's active roster, and this injury doesn't help his chances. The extent of the 24-year-old's injury is currently unknown.

Zyon Gilbert: Back to practice squad Monday
Gilbert reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With starting cornerback Adoree' Jackson (knee) still sitting out due to an MCL sprain Week 14, Gilbert was elevated from the practice squad for the second game in a row. While the undrafted rookie fell far short of his 54 defensive snaps played Week 13, he managed to remain productive versus Philadelphia, logging two tackles and a sack over eight snaps on defense. He also added three more tackles across 11 special-teams snaps. With Jackson expected to remain out, it's likely the Giants will exercise Gilbert's last available elevation from the practice squad Week 15 against the Commanders.

Gilbert reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Gilbert made his NFL debut in Sunday's tie with the Commanders. The rookie played slot corner and saw the field for 56 of the team's 85 defensive snaps, recording seven tackles. With Adoree' Jackson (knee) unlikely to return Week 14 against the Eagles, Gilbert is likely to find himself back with the active roster again.
