Broncos' Baron Browning: Unable to suit up Sunday
Browning (back) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
After missing the first two practices to open Week 17 prep before logging a limited session Friday due to a back issue, Browning ultimately won't dress for Sunday's contest versus Kansas City. With six other Broncos' linebackers currently on injured reserve, Nik Bonitto, Alex Singleton, Josey Jewell and Jonathon Cooper are slated to start this weekend.

Broncos' Baron Browning: Status up in air for Week 17
Browning (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Browning logged one tackle while playing his usual share of defensive snaps during last Sunday's loss to the Rams, though it appears he came away from the contest with a back injury. This issue then kept the 23-year-old linebacker sidelined during practice Wednesday and Thursday before he worked his way back in a limited fashion Friday. Browning has played around two-thirds of Denver's defensive snaps in each of the last six games, so his potential absence could leave both Nik Bonitto and Jonathan Cooper to step into starting roles with Randy Gregory (knee) already ruled out versus Kansas City.

Browning hasn't played since Week 7 against the Jets, but he'll now return to beef up the team's linebacker corps in a divisional matchup with Las Vegas. His return should be a boost to the entire defense Sunday.

Browning was limited during each practice of Week 11 prep but still has a chance to return to action following a two-game absence. Before suffering the injury, the linebacker recorded 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception across seven appearances.
