Buccaneers' Devin White: Staying in Tampa?
Bucs GM Jason Licht said the team has no intention of trading White, who recently requested a trade, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
The 2019 first-round pick seemingly is frustrated with negotiations on a long-term contract and doesn't want to play out 2023 on the fifth-year option. White has missed only one game since his rookie year, making 49 starts and recording at least 124 tackles and 3.5 sacks in three straight seasons. He should remain a top IDP regardless of how things play out with the contract negotiations and trade request.

Buccaneers' Devin White: Requests trade out of Tampa Bay
White has requested a trade from the Buccaneers, ESPN's Jenna Laine reports.
Selected fifth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, White is entering the final year of his contract and is set to play on the fifth-year team option after extension talks have gone nowhere. White has at least 100 tackles in three straight years and has missed just one game in that span. He also has 20.5 career sacks, nine fumble recoveries, six forced fumbles, and a pair of defensive touchdowns. White is a legitimate difference-maker at the linebacker position. The Bucs do not want to trade White, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Buccaneers' Devin White: Another productive season
White finished the 2022 regular season with 124 tackles (74 solo), including 5.5 sacks, five defensed passes, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles across 17 games.
White followed up that impressive line with a modest five tackles (two solo) in the wild-card loss to the Cowboys. However, his regular-season body of work was as impressive as ever, with his pass breakups a career high. White's sack total was also the second highest of his career, and the soon-to-be 25-year-old could be in for an even more prominent role next season if fellow linebacker Lavonte David leaves via free agency.

Buccaneers' Devin White: Picks up fumble Week 17
White recorded seven tackles (four solo) and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 30-24 win against Carolina.
White tied with outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka for the Buccaneers' second-most tackles behind longtime veteran Lavonte David. The fourth-year linebacker also logged his second fumble recovery in as many weeks, emerging from a scrum of bodies for an aborted snap by Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold. White leads Tampa Bay with just two more tackles than White (120) over 16 games this season, and the two should continue to serve as the team's primary tacklers Week 18 against Atlanta.

Buccaneers' Devin White: Racks up stops in Week 16 win
White recorded nine tackles (five solo), was credited with three quarterback hits and recovered a fumble in the Buccaneers' 19-16 overtime win against the Cardinals on Sunday night.
White checked in second in tackles on the night behind fellow linebacker Lavonte David and was a consistent presence around Cardinals spot starter Trace McSorley. White fell just short of his fifth double-digit tackle tally of the campaign with the productive performance, but his season line of 115 stops, 5.5 sacks, five defensed passes, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery afford him elite IDP status heading into the final two games of the season.

White recorded five tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 35-7 loss to the 49ers.
Although White continued to operate in an every-down role this past weekend versus San Fransisco, he managed to collect just five stops in the contest. The former first-rounder now has 99 tackles, 5.5 sacks, five passes defensed and two forced fumbles across 13 games played, and he'll look to get things back on track when Tampa Bay hosts the Bengals on Sunday.
