Dolphins' Christian Wilkins: Dominant in primetime
Wilkins notched seven tackles (five solo) and one sack during Sunday's 24-17 win over New England.
Wilkins, who's currently playing out the final season of his rookie deal, played a key role in helping the Dolphins improve to a 2-0 record via a victory over the AFC East rival Patriots. The 2019 first-round pick notched 3.5 sacks across 17 contests last season, but he could improve upon those numbers in 2023 under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Wilkins' next chance to cause havoc up front will come Week 3 versus the Broncos.

Dolphins' Christian Wilkins: Back at practice
Wilkins (contract dispute) isn't listed on the Dolphins' injury report Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Wilkins held out of training camp while looking for an extension on his rookie deal, which will pay him $10.75 million this season. He ended his holdout last week and made it clear that he didn't consider a trade request and wants to stay in Miami. The 2019 first-round pick out of Clemson recorded a career-high 98 tackles last season to go along with 3.5 sacks, six pass deflections and two forced fumbles in 17 games.

Dolphins' Christian Wilkins: Refusing to participate in full
Wilkins will not participate in team drills during practice while his agent works to renegotiate a new contract, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.
Wilkins is now in the final year of his rookie deal, which should pay him $10.75 million. However, the Clemson product feels like it's time he gets an extension and a contract that better fits what other defensive tackles of his stature are making. Wilkins stated to Sports Illustrated: "I definitely feel like I've done enough and done a lot to earn a new deal and new contract." Until he gets a new deal, he plans to do his best to avoid injury and continue his "hold-in" by showing up to camp, but working individual drills.
