  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Making progress in recovery

Adams (knee) remains without a timeline for full health, according to head coach Pete Carroll, but he is starting to move and do work on a treadmill, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Adams suffered a torn quadriceps tendon in his right knee Week 1, which required surgery and forced him out for the entire season. It's still unclear when he'll be able to participate in full for any offseason activities, but the 27-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of the 2023 season.

  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Officially out for season

Head coach Pete Carroll confirmed Tuesday that Adams (knee/quadriceps) won't return in the 2022 season, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Carroll finally ruled out Adams for the season after dancing around the subject for more than a month following the safety's surgery to repair a torn quadriceps tendon in his right knee. Ryan Neal has taken over duties at strong safety in the meantime. Injuries have been a serious issue for Adams, who only played 24 games between the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Adams is on track to make it back for the 2023 campaign. He will immediately reclaim his starting role once he returns.

  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Undergoes successful surgery

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday "everybody sounds pleased" in regards to Adams' recent knee surgery, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.

Carroll added that the safety, who has already been ruled out for the season, is going to be away from the team for the early part of his recovery from the torn quadriceps tendon in his left knee, which he sustained during the team's season-opening win over the Broncos. The procedure was Adams' fourth since he joined the Seahawks ahead of the 2020 campaign, and he'll only play 25 games through his first three seasons with the team. When Adams was placed on injured reserve last week, Seattle signed defensive back Teez Tabor off Atlanta's practice squad to fill the empty roster spot, but Josh Jones has taken over as the starting safety next to Quandre Diggs.

  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Moves to IR

Seattle placed Adams (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Adams will soon undergo surgery to address the torn quadriceps tendon in his left knee that he sustained in Monday's 17-16 win over the Broncos and will be sidelined for the rest of the season as a result. The upcoming procedure will be Adams' fourth since he joined the Seahawks ahead of the 2020 campaign, as he previously underwent a pair of shoulder surgeries along with another surgery last offseason to fuse two dislocated fingers. Seattle signed defensive back Teez Tabor off Atlanta's practice squad to replace Adams on the 53-man roster, but Josh Jones is likely to receive the first opportunity to take over Adams' spot in the starting lineup at safety alongside Quandre Diggs (knee).

  • Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Surgery will end season

Adams (knee) is slated for season-ending surgery on a torn quadriceps tendon that he sustained Monday against the Broncos, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

After applying pressure on Russell Wilson during the first half of Week 1 action, Adams limped to the sideline and then required a cart to go to the locker room. A left knee injury was the initial culprit, but he eventually was diagnosed with a quad tendon tear. Now that surgery will be ordered up, Adams is destined for injured reserve in the near future. While his 2022 campaign is over, he's also expected to undergo a procedure on the broken finger that he sustained in the early stages of training camp at some point.
