Laurent Duvernay-Tardif: Finds new home
Duvernay-Tardif signed with the Jets' practice squad Thursday, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
Duvernay-Tardif announced in June he was pausing his NFL career to begin a residency program at a Montreal-area hospital. With his residency completed, he now returns to the team he played with last season and started seven games for. The 31-year-old will work to earn his way onto the active roster.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif: Pausing NFL career
Duvernay-Tardif announced Wednesday that he's pausing his NFL career to begin a residency program at a Montreal-area hospital, the Associated Press reports.
Duvernay-Tardif became a free agent in March after starting seven games for the Jets last season, and he's now opted to continue his career in medicine. The 31-year-old stressed that he's not retiring from football but is simply stepping away for now, and he could still end up seeing the field in 2022.

Duvernay-Tardif (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Duvernay-Tardif has tested positive for the virus, though he'll still have the chance to suit up for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars assuming he's vaccinated. Duvernay-Tardif has served as New York's starting right guard since Week 10 after being traded by the Chiefs earlier in the season.

Jets' Laurent Duvernay-Tardif: Will play Sunday
Duvernay-Tardif (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
The Jets withheld Duvernay-Tardif from practices Wednesday and Thursday due to the injury, but he returned to the field in a limited capacity Friday to take a questionable tag into the weekend. The limited practice was ultimately enough for Duvernay-Tardif to gain clearance to play, and he should serve as the Jets' starting right guard.
