Forrest Lamp: Let go Tuesday
Lamp (undisclosed) was released from IR with an injury settlement by the Saints on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Lamp landed on IR on Aug. 20, which would have put him out for the season. However, after reaching an injury settlement with the Saints, he can now pursue opportunities elsewhere if he can prove he is healthy.

Saints' Forrest Lamp: Lands on IR
Lamp (undisclosed) was placed on New Orleans' injured reserve list Friday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The move means he'll sit out the entire 2022 season unless he can work out an injury settlement with the Saints. After being selected in the second round of the 2017 draft, Lamp has appeared in just 26 games over four seasons.

Lamp was signed to the Saints' practice squad on Oct. 19, and he spent the majority of his season in that role. He was promoted to the active roster for one game, and he appeared on the field for five special teams snaps. Lamp has struggled to stay healthy since being selected in the second-round of the 2017 NFL Draft, though he could provide valuable depth along the offensive line in 2022.

Lamp suffered a broken fibula during Sunday's loss to the Titans and will miss the rest of the 2019 season, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Lamp was previously reported to have sustained a broken ankle, but coach Anthony Lynn clarified the fracture is actually to his lower leg. Regardless, the 25-year-old's season is over and he should be headed to injured reserve in the near future. Dan Feeney should take over at left guard for the Chargers.

The 2017 second-round pick has struggled to make much of an impact in his two seasons in the NFL to date. Lamp's rookie campaign ended prematurely thanks to a preseason ACL tear, an injury that essentially forced him to redshirt his sophomore season in the NFL as he continued to work back into shape. Now two years removed from the severe knee injury, Lamp is expected to compete for a starting guard spot and likely will have a leg up on the incumbent, Michael Schofield III, should he have his roster bonus picked up in March. Given the Chargers' offensive line ranked near the bottom of the league according to Pro Football Focus, it seems likely the franchise will bring in a number of potential options, meaning Lamp isn't necessarily guaranteed a starting job despite his high draft selection.
