Falcons' Eddie Goldman: Back in the mix with Atlanta
The Falcons signed Goldman on Wednesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Goldman will join Atlanta's offseason roster after he recently decided to put an end to his second retirement. The 6-foot-3, 332-pound defensive tackle last saw action with the Bears in 2021, but now that he's been signed by Atlanta, the 30-year-old will look to carve out a role in the team's line rotation.

Eddie Goldman: Off reserve/left squad list
Goldman (undisclosed) was released from the reserve/left squad list by the Falcons on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Goldman signed a contract with the Falcons in July 2022 after he spent six seasons with the Bears. However, a couple of weeks later, the Florida State product opted to retire instead. He attempted a comeback in 2023 but that ended with him once again walking away from Atlanta and being placed on the exempt/left squad list.

Falcons' Eddie Goldman: Shifts to reserve list
The Falcons placed Goldman (undisclosed) on the reserve/left squad list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Goldman had previously been reinstated from the reserve/retired list back in March, but it looks like his NFL career is now definitively over. Coach Arthur Smith clarified in July that Goldman wouldn't play again for Atlanta during the 2023 campaign.

The Falcons placed Goldman (undisclosed) on the exempt/left squad list Saturday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Goldman's career appears to be coming to a definitive end after he was reinstated from the Falcons' reserve/retired list in March. The 29-year-old essentially unretired after walking away for the entire 2022 campaign, though he missed practice Friday while once again considering retirement, and head coach Arthur Smith said Saturday that the defensive tackle will not play for Atlanta in 2023. If this is ultimately the end for Goldman, he will wrap up his career with 175 tackles and 13 sacks over 81 games played for the Bears from 2015 to 2021.

Falcons' Eddie Goldman: Set to move on from Atlanta
Head coach Arthur Smith told reporters Saturday that Goldman "will not be out there with us" for the 2023 season after missing practice Friday, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.
Per Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com, Smith said Friday that Goldman was absent from Friday's practice for personal reasons and has been considering retirement for a second time. Goldman initially hung up his cleats in 2022 before being reinstated from the reserve/retired list in March. The 2015 second-round pick out of Florida State has racked up 175 tackles and 13 sacks over 81 games in his six-year NFL career.

Falcons' Eddie Goldman: Considering retirement again
Head coach Arthur Smith told reporters Friday that Goldman, who was absent from practice for personal reasons, is considering retiring for a second time, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Goldman was reinstated from the reserve/retired list in March after initially hanging up his cleats last July. Smith noted that Goldman looked "phenomenal" when he showed up Tuesday for check-in and is hoping to have an answer about Goldman's status by Saturday. Goldman last played for Chicago in 2021, when he posted 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 14 games.

Falcons' Eddie Goldman: Reinstated after retiring in 2022
The Falcons announced Tuesday that Goldman has been reinstated from the reserve/retired list, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Goldman announced his retirement last summer less than two weeks after signing a one-year deal with Atlanta. The 2015 second-round pick by the Bears has totaled 174 tackles and 13 sacks in 81 games over six seasons with Chicago. He had previously opted out of the 2020 campaign but returned in 2021 and posted 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 14 appearances (320 defensive snaps).

Eddie Goldman: Opts to retire
The Falcons announced Tuesday that Goldman has informed the team he intends to retire.
Less than two weeks after signing with Atlanta, the 28-year-old nose tackle has had a change of heart and will instead end his career. A second-round pick of the Bears in 2015, Goldman totaled 174 tackles and 13 sacks in 81 games over six seasons, all with Chicago. He had previously opted out of the 2020 campaign before returning to action in 2021.

Goldman signed a one-year deal with the Falcons on Wednesday, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports.
Goldman will head to Atlanta after six seasons with Chicago, playing 81 games with 73 starts over this span. The 28-year-old has been solid against the run during his career, but his production took a dip in 2021 as he tallied 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks over 14 games. Nevertheless, Goldman should push for a primary role at nose tackle with Ta'Quon Graham and Anthony Rush for the Falcons.
