  • D.J. Humphries: Let go by Cardinals

Humphries (knee) was released by the Cardinals on Wednesday, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.

Humphries -- who was let go with a failed physical designation -- suffered a torn ACL in Week 17 of the 2023 campaign and is still recovering from the injury. Once healthy, the offensive tackle will have to prove himself in order to get another opportunity elsewhere. The 30-year-old has an abundance of experience in the league and will now look for a new home after nine seasons in Arizona.

  • Cardinals' D.J. Humphries: Surgery delay due to MCL sprain

Head coach Jonathan Gannon noted Monday that Humphries (knee) has to wait to get surgery for his torn ACL, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.

Gannon told reporters that Humphries is dealing with an MCL sprain that needs to "calm down" before undergoing ACL surgery. McManaman notes that it could take a month or two for that to happen, which would significantly delay Humphries's surgery and subsequent recovery. He started in all 15 games he appeared in this season.

  • Cardinals' D.J. Humphries: Officially shifts to IR

Humphries (knee) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Humphries suffered a torn ACL in the Cardinals' Week 17 win over the Eagles, so it's no surprise that the 30-year-old will end the season on injured reserve. Kelvin Beachum is expected to get the nod at left tackle in Arizona's season finale, with Humphries set to miss significant time.

  • Cardinals' D.J. Humphries: Suffers significant injury

Humphries suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's 35-31 win over the Eagles, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

The Cardinals are expected to place Humphries on injured reserve in the coming days, leaving the team without its starting left tackle for Sunday's season finale against the Seahawks. Given the timing of Humphries' significant knee injury, his availability for the start of the 2024 season could be in jeopardy. A 2021 Pro Bowler, Humphries has been an anchor at left tackle for Arizona since being selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Kelvin Beachum stepped in for the injured Humphries in the win over Philadelphia and will presumably start at left tackle in the finale.

  • Cardinals' D.J. Humphries: Still being evaluated

Head coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday that Humphries' knee injury is still being evaluated and that the team should have an update Wednesday, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Humphries injured his left knee during Sunday's win over the Eagles and had to be helped off the field by trainers and did not return. The eighth-year pro missed one game earlier in the season with an ankle injury but has otherwise started all 15 games he's played in.

  • Cardinals' D.J. Humphries: Will not return

Humphries (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports.

Humphries appeared to hurt his left knee and needed the help of trainers to get off the field, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. His exit will leave a void at left tackle, which Kelvin Beachum will step in and fill for the remainder of Week 17.

  • Cardinals' D.J. Humphries: Out Sunday

Humphries (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports.

Humphries drew a questionable designation after injuring his ankle in last week's loss to the Browns. It appears his health is not back up to par, so Arizona will lean on the side of caution here. In his absence, Kelvin Beachum is the prime candidate to fill in on the offensive line.

Humphries (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Humphries exited Arizona's Week 9 loss to the Browns after suffering an ankle injury, and even though he didn't practice all week, he's got a chance to suit up this Sunday. If the veteran offensive lineman misses the Cardinals' Week 10 contest, Kelvin Beachum is expected to step in at left tackle.

The X-ray performed on Humphries' right ankle following Sunday's loss to the Browns didn't reveal any damage, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Humphries left the game early and was unable to return. A negative X-ray should be considered good news, although it's not clear if he is still in danger of missing any time.
