Chiefs' Brandon Williams: Now with active roster
Williams was signed to the Chiefs' 53-man roster Thursday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Williams signed with the team's practice squad Nov. 30 with the expectations of a quick move to the active roster. The former Raven has yet to play this season, but he should at least bolster the team's depth at defensive tackle. It's unclear how large of a role he'll have, especially early on, but he should suit up Sunday against the Broncos.

Brandon Williams: To join Chiefs' practice squad
The Chiefs are expected to sign Williams to their practice squad, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
Williams was drafted in 2013 by the Ravens, and he ultimately spent his first nine NFL campaigns in Baltimore, which included a Pro-Bowl selection following the 2018 season. With Tershawn Wharton suffering a torn ACL back in Week 5 and expected to remain sidelined the rest of the year, it's possible the veteran defensive lineman could receive a promotion to Kansas City's active roster and eventually join Chris Jones and Khalen Saunders in the trenches.

Ravens' Brandon Williams: Piles up double-digit stops
Williams had 11 tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Steelers.
Through seven appearances leading up to Week 13's loss, Williams hadn't recorded a single game with more than three tackles, so Sunday's explosion onto the IDP fantasy radar came out of left field. The veteran nose tackle isn't normally a strong candidate for fantasy utility, but he is set for a strong matchup against a run-heavy Browns offense Week 14.

Williams was unable to participate in practice Friday, suggesting that he's likely in line for a fourth consecutive absence come Sunday. The questionable tag gives him some hope, though, so Williams' status will bear monitoring ahead of the clash between AFC North rivals. Having Williams on the interior of the defensive line would undoubtedly help the Ravens slow Cleveland's potent rushing attack.

Ravens' Brandon Williams: Activated off COVID-19 list
The Ravens activated Williams from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Luke Jones of WNST reports.
Williams was deemed a close contact to Jaylon Ferguson -- who tested positive for COVID-19 -- and was inactive for Sunday's contest against the Lions. The 32-year-old was also dealing with a minor neck injury that he sustained in Week 2, so he still has to recover from that before he can get back into the mix against Denver in Week 4.

The Ravens placed Williams (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.
Williams picked up a neck strain Week 2, which didn't allow him to practice Wednesday before he returned in a limited capacity Thursday. Now, with a positive test in the Ravens' facilities -- Jaylon Ferguson (illness) -- Williams has been deemed to be a close contact, at the very least. As such, Williams, Justin Houston (undisclosed) and Justin Madubuike (undisclosed) are unlikely to be available Sunday in Detroit.

Ravens' Brandon Williams: Expected to stay with Ravens
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said Tuesday that he expects Williams to remain with the Ravens for the 2021 season, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The Ravens would free up roughly $7.5 million in salary-cap space by cutting Williams outright, but DeCosta believes Williams is a key part of the team's defense. The 32-year-old nose tackle started all 13 games that he played last season, posting 33 tackles and two pass breakups.
