Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Gets minor knee surgery
Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones said Wednesday that Smith recently underwent surgery to address a minor knee issue, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Smith was sidelined for Dallas' first 13 games of the 2022 campaign as a result of the avulsion fracture he sustained in his left knee during training camp. It's likely that his most recent surgery was just a follow-up procedure to clean up any leftover concerns from his previous injury. He'll now aim to make a full recovery by the time the Cowboys' offseason program rolls around.

Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Will be available at Jacksonville
Dallas activated Smith (hamstring) from its injured reserve list Saturday ahead of Sunday's game at the Jaguars, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
After missing the first 13 games of the season recovering from a torn hamstring he sustained back in August, Smith appears set to make his 2022 debut in Week 15. The eight-time Pro Bowler may need to be worked back in slowly, but he should provide a huge boost to the Cowboys' offense in the home stretch of the season.

Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Expected back Week 15
Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he expects Smith (knee) to return from injured reserve ahead of Dallas' Week 15 game at Jacksonville, The Dallas Morning News reports.
Smith has missed the Cowboys' first 13 games of the season while recovering from late-August surgery to reattach a torn hamstring tendon to his left knee, but he resumed practicing last week and appears to have responded well to on-field activity. Jones wouldn't commit to the eight-time Pro Bowler returning to a full-time role this Sunday, but Smith should at least split work at left tackle with rookie Tyler Smith if he's able to make it through the upcoming practice week unscathed. Expect Tyron Smith to eventually settle back in to playing 100 percent of the snaps at left tackle in future games once he's further removed from knee surgery. Smith's impending return from IR comes at a convenient time, as starting right tackle Terence Steele (knee) went down with a season-ending ACL tear in last week's win over the Texans.

Cowboys' Tyron Smith: Closing in on return
Dallas designated Smith (knee) for return from injured reserve Wednesday.
The Cowboys will now have a 21-day practice window wherein they can evaluate Smith before restoring him to the 53-man roster. Depending on how he looks in practice this week, the two-time All-Pro left tackle could be a candidate for activation as soon as this Sunday's game against the Texans. Rookie Tyler Smith and Jason Peters have been the primary fill-ins at left tackle while Tyron Smith has been sidelined since undergoing surgery in late August to address an avulsion fracture in his left knee.
