Brown posted five points (1-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and five rebounds in 14 minutes during Tuesday's 103-98 preseason win over the Jazz

Brown was selected No. 30 overall by the Clippers in the 2023 NBA Draft. While the rookie forward is unlikely to receive a significant role during the regular season, he should continue to see extended minutes throughout the preseason.

  • Clippers' Kobe Brown: Healthy to start training camp

Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank said Wednesday that Brown (ankle) is healthy and ready to go for training camp, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.

Brown suffered an ankle injury during Summer League action, but as expected, the rookie first-round pick is good to go for training camp. The Missouri product averaged 15.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.6 made three-pointers, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 25.5 minutes per game during Summer League. Brown's three-point efficiency certainly stood out in college, and it appears his shot will translate to the next level, which should help him carve out a rotational spot to start 2023-24.

  • Clippers' Kobe Brown: Night ends early due to ankle injury

Brown didn't return to Sunday's 104-103 loss to the Lakers in the Las Vegas Summer League after exiting in the second quarter with an ankle injury, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.

The rookie first-round pick put up six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and two assists in six minutes before departing the contest and finishes the Las Vegas Summer League with averages of 15.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 25.5 minutes per contest. Though he's listed at 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Brown boasts a defter shooting touch than his physique might suggest; he drilled 13 of his 30 three-point attempts (43.3 percent) in Las Vegas and converted at a 45.5 percent rate from beyond the arc during his final season of college basketball at Missouri. After the strong showing this summer, Brown could be a candidate to crack the Clippers' season-opening rotation, especially if Kawhi Leonard (knee) and/or Paul George (knee) aren't cleared for the start of campaign.

  • Clippers' Kobe Brown: Final pick in first round

Brown was selected by the Clippers with the 30th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

A four-year starter at Missouri, Brown averaged 15.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 threes as a senior en route to All-SEC honors. He's unlikely to be much of a contributor in Year 1, but if he can handle himself defensively, he could work his way into the end of head coach Ty Lue's rotation. During his senior season, Brown shot 45.5 percent from three (3.3 3PA/G) after hitting only 20.6 percent of his attempts as a junior.
