Hornets' Tidjane Salaun: Debuts with 11 points off bench
Rotowire
Salaun finished Sunday's preseason game against the Knicks with 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt) and one rebound in 22 minutes.
Making his NBA debut, Salaun held his own off the bench, draining three triples on his way to finishing as one of five Hornets players to score in double figures. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft is one of the biggest mysteries in the class, and it's unclear just how much of a role the 19-year-old will have when the regular season begins. For now, he's a player to keep an eye on in deeper leagues and dynasty formats.
Salaun logged eight points (3-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds and one assist over 14 minutes in Saturday's 94-90 Summer League win over the Knicks.
Selected with the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Salaun is considered a long-term bet on upside for the Hornets. In the short term, the Hornets could utilize his wingspan, athleticism and defensive energy off the bench. While playing for Cholet in France in the 2023-24 season, the forward averaged 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 assists.
