Gillespie signed a two-year contract with German club FC Bayern Munich on Monday. The 6-foot-9 center will try his luck overseas after he split time between the NBA and the G League over his first two professional seasons. The Magic didn't re-sign Gillespie after his 10-day contract expired Monday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Over the course of his pair of 10-day deals with Orlando, Gillespie appeared in nine games and averaged 2.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 13.3 minutes. Since the Magic haven't placed any corresponding players in the COVID-19 health and safety protocols in recent days, the team won't receive a roster exemption from the NBA allowing the team to keep Gillespie around. Gillespie is signing a 10-day hardship deal with the Orlando Magic, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The Baylor product played 20 games with the Raptors last season and now will be playing in Orlando as the Magic deal with their COVID situation. Gillespie began the season with the Memphis Hustle and averaged 11.4 points and 12.2 rebounds per game over his first 12 appearances with the G League club.
