  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Starting Monday

Hachimura will start in Monday's contest against the Nets, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports.

The newly-acquired forward will make his first start in a Lakers' uniform with both LeBron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (foot) ruled out. Across Hachimura's first two games with Los Angeles, the 24-year-old is averaging 9.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 23.0 minutes per game.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Contributes right away

Hachimura registered 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 113-104 victory over San Antonio.

If Wednesday's win was any indication, we will be seeing a lot more from Hachimura as the season progresses. Not only did Hachimura distinguish himself under the basket, he offered a slash-and-shoot style that provided an added dimension to the offense. His arrival is bad news for fantasy managers who are riding Troy Brown for production, as it appears coach Darvin Ham is grooming Hachimura for a starting role.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Ready to go Wednesday

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said Hachimura (coach's decision) will be available to play Wednesday against the Spurs, Dave McMenamin of reports.

After Hachimura was acquired from the Wizards on Monday, Ham wanted to give the fourth-year forward a chance to settle into his new digs rather than immediately throwing him into the rotation for Tuesday's 133-115 loss to the Lakers. Now that he's gotten a day to adjust to his new surroundings, Hachimura will get the chance to make his Lakers debut Wednesday. Hachimura averaged 24.3 minutes per game over his 30 appearances for Washington, but he doesn't project to see a major bump in playing time -- if one at all -- with the move to Los Angeles, especially with the Lakers expected to get star big man Anthony Davis (foot) back in action Wednesday.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Won't debut Tuesday

Hachimura (not injury related) is listed out for Tuesday's game against the Clippers, Tomer Azarly of reports.

Hachimura was dealt from the Wizards to the Lakers early in the day Monday, and he'll need more time to settle in before making his Los Angeles debut. His next chance to take the court will arrive Wednesday against the Spurs.

  • Wizards' Rui Hachimura: Steps up after Porzingis' early exit

Hachimura finished Saturday's 138-118 win over the Magic with 30 points (13-22 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and two blocks in 30 minutes.

With Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) exiting early Saturday, Hachimura stepped into an expanded role in the frontcourt and came up big with his second 30-point outing of the season. A 32.2 percent usage rate along with better-than-usual efficiency played a big part in Hachimura's success, and even if Porzingis misses additional time, the fourth-year forward out of Gonzaga won't necessarily have free reign to put up as many shots as he did Saturday while both Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma are healthy. The two rejections also don't seem replicable, given that Hachimura entered the contest with an average of 0.3 blocks per game for the season.

  • Wizards' Rui Hachimura: Misses practice Monday

Head coach Wes Unseld said Hachimura missed Monday's practice due to personal reasons, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports.

The reasoning behind Hachimura's absence is unclear, but it could be due to a potential trade, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Given the missed practice, Hachimura can be considered questionable for Tuesday's matchup in Dallas, but his official status for that game remains unclear. More information will likely be available when Washington releases its next injury report, or a trade is made official. If Hachimura is ruled out or traded, the Wizards would be down two of their top frontcourt members moving forward, as Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) is considered week-to-week after leaving Saturday's win over the Magic early.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Heading to Los Angeles

The Wizards are finalizing a deal sending Hachimura (personal) to the Lakers in exchange for Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Hachimura was linked to multiple teams via the trade market, but the Lakers and Wizards were ultimately able to reach an agreement a couple of weeks ahead of the Feb. 9 deadline. The 24-year-old will likely benefit from a change of scenery, as he's had a somewhat inconsistent role off the bench for Washington in recent weeks. He's averaging 13.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 24.3 minutes per game this year. Hachimura didn't practice with the Wizards on Monday due to personal reasons, but his absence was likely related to the trade. Whether he's able to suit up in time for Tuesday's game against the Clippers remains to be seen, but he'll provide another frontcourt piece for the Lakers over the second half of the season.

  • Wizards' Rui Hachimura: Held in check Wednesday

Hachimura notched zero points (0-7 FG, 0-6 3Pt), one rebound and one assist across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 116-105 victory over New York.

Hachimura has been an inconsistent scorer recently, but he was held scoreless for the first time this season during Wednesday's win. He's been held below 10 points in four of his last six appearances and has averaged 8.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game during that time.

  • Wizards' Rui Hachimura: Productive off bench Monday

Hachimura accumulated 16 points (7-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across 26 minutes off the bench during Monday's 127-118 loss to the Warriors.

He was the only player on the Wizards bench to score in double digits. Hachimura hadn't scored more than 10 points in any of the four games prior as the 24-year-old forward continues to struggle with consistency, but in 10 games since Christmas he has managed to average 14.7 points, 3.3 boards, 1.2 assists and 1.2 threes across 25.2 minutes.

  • Wizards' Rui Hachimura: Incredibly inefficient night

Hachimura contributed nine points (4-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one block over 27 minutes during Monday's 132-112 loss to New Orleans.

Hachimura led the Washington bench with 27 minutes but still managed only nine points and very little peripheral production. It's been an inconsistent season for the young forward, and he just isn't reliable enough to count on for more than a streaming spot for points or rebounds on occasion.
