Jerian Grant: Heading overseas
Grant agreed to a contract Wednesday with Promitheas Patras B.C. of the Greek Basket League, Christos Harpidis of BetCornerNews.gr reports.
As he makes the jump to Greece, Grant will be joining older brother Jerai, who signed with Promitheas a day earlier. The younger Grant -- a 2015 first-round pick -- appeared in six games for the Wizards at the NBA bubble in Orlando this summer, averaging 4.5 points in 13.3 minutes per contest.

Wizards' Jerian Grant: Joins Wizards for season restart
Grant agreed with the Wizards on a rest-of-season contract Thursday, Chris Miller of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Grant will be joining Washington's roster as a replacement for Davis Bertans (personal), who has opted not to play in the Wizards' final eight regular-season contests. As Fred Katz of The Athletic notes, Grant's status as a replacement player means he'll earn the league minimum for the remainder of the Wizards' schedule before becoming a free agent during the offseason. A 2015 first-round pick, Grant appeared in 273 contests between the Knicks, Bulls and Magic over the previous four seasons, averaging 6.1 points, 2.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 18.0 minutes per game. He has yet to appear in the NBA in 2019-20, instead spending the entire campaign with the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go.

Jerian Grant: Leads team in G League loss
Grant totaled 19 points (7-11 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and one steal in Saturday's G League loss to Wisconsin.
Grant had a marvelous night shooting as he made more than he missed and was perfect from beyond the arc. The Notre Dame product is averaging 16.3 points and 5.9 assists per game across 38 games in the G League this season.

Grant scored 21 points (7-12 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added one rebound, 12 assists and five steals in Wednesday's G League win over Grand Rapids.
After a 21-point, 10-rebound outing the last time out, Grant decided to get his double-double via the assist. Additionally, he logged game highs in both assists and steals.

Grant scored 28 points (7-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT) and added seven rebounds, seven assists and one block during Wednesday's G League win over Raptors 905.
Grant has had his fair share of high-scoring games in the G League this season, but this was his first tilt with more than 20 points in his last four. In 20 G League games this season, the 2015 first-round pick is averaging 17 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest.

Grant was reportedly heading to the Chinese Basketball Association in August, but his plans appear to have changed. He's yet to join a G League team but should be getting into game action soon as he looks to return to an NBA roster.

Grant agreed Monday on a contract with the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
The terms of Grant's deal aren't known, but his contract is likely far more lucrative than the offers he was fielding from NBA teams in free agency this summer. A 2015 first-round pick, Grant spent time with three teams during his first four NBA seasons, failing to distinguish himself as a capable backup point guard at any of those stops. He appeared in 60 games with the Magic in 2018-19, averaging 4.2 points, 2.6 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per contest while shooting 41.8 percent from the floor, 65 percent from the free-throw line and 36.4 percent from three-point range.

Grant will become an unrestricted free agent after averaging 4.2 points, 2.6 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 15.7 minutes across 60 games last year. It's unclear if he's expected to garner significant attention but has the potential to be a solid backup point guard if extended the opportunity.

Grant had nine points (3-4 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five rebounds, and one assist in 17 minutes during Sunday's 105-97 loss to the Grizzlies.
Grant has combined to earn 37 minutes across the last two contests with Isaiah Briscoe (knee) out. Given the lack of competition for playing time behind starting point guard D.J. Augustin, Grant will likely continue to earn decent minutes while operating as Augustin's primary backup unless Briscoe is able to return to the lineup sooner than he was originally expected.

Magic's Jerian Grant: Sliding down depth chart
Grant finished with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist across five minutes Monday in the Magic's 111-95 loss to the Kings.
Grant has now received five minutes or fewer in three straight games and looks like he could be excluded from the rotation entirely in more competitive contests. Isaiah Briscoe (17 minutes) and Jonathon Simmons (12 minutes) both received more playing time than Grant and likely rank as coach Steve Clifford's preferred options to back up starting point guard D.J. With D.J. Augustin (ankle) back in the lineup, Grant will resume his usual bench role. During December, he averaged 4.0 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds across 17.2 minutes.

Magic's Jerian Grant: Flops in starting role
Grant started at point guard and logged nine points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five assists and two rebounds across 26 minutes Monday in the Magic's 125-100 loss to the Hornets.
Grant entered the starting five with D.J. Augustin (ankle) and delivered elevated production compared to normal, but his statistical output was still disappointing in the context of the opportunity available to him. Part of the problem was the fact the Magic were trailing by 18 points after three quarters, prompting coach Steve Clifford to ride backup point guard Isaiah Briscoe (27 minutes) more heavily amid the blowout loss. If Augustin remains out Wednesday against the lowly Bulls, Grant should have a better chance at logging more extensive minutes and seeing his production tick up with the Magic likely to keep that game more competitive.

Magic's Jerian Grant: Moving into starting five
Grant will start Monday's game against Charlotte, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
The Magic will be without D.J. Augustin, so Grant will fill in at point guard, with Isaiah Briscoe in line for some minutes off the bench. Grant's role has dwindled of late, as he's played just nine combined minutes over the last two games, but he should be set for a significant bump in playing time Monday.
