Wesley Johnson: Bound for Greece
Johnson signed a one-year contract Monday with Greek club Panathinaikos, Eurohoops.net reports.
After being waived by the Wizards in April, Johnson found a light market for his services this offseason and will look to keep his career going overseas. The 32-year-old, who averaged 3.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.7 triples in 14.1 minutes per game across 38 appearances between Washington and New Orleans in 2018-19, could resurface in the NBA if he impresses with the Greek club.

Johnson managed three points (0-1 FG, 3-3 FT) and one rebound in seven minutes during Thursday's 113-108 loss to the Nuggets.
Johnson has appeared in only four games thus far in March and has been limited to single-digit minutes in each of them. As the regular season winds down and the Wizards fall out of playoff contention, Johnson is unlikely to receive many minutes across the last nine games of 2018-19.

Wizards' Wesley Johnson: Finds home in Washington rotation
Johnson played 25 minutes and contributed six points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block Monday in the Wizards' 121-112 loss to the Pistons.
Expectations were low for Johnson after the Wizards acquired him from the Pelicans prior to last week's trade deadline, but the veteran swingman has surprisingly claimed a rotation spot immediately for his new club after being an afterthought in New Orleans for much of the season. The 31-year-old has played ahead of Sam Dekker in each of his first three contests with the Wizards and has seen his playing time pick up in each successive game. It's unlikely he'll see his role expand much further from here, but the fact that Johnson has seemingly secured a solid second-unit role might be enough to keep him on the radar in 18-team leagues or deeper.

Wizards' Wesley Johnson: Available to play Friday
Johnson will be available to play Friday against Cleveland.
After being acquired from New Orleans on Thursday, Johnson will reportedly be able to participate in the Wizards' contest against the Cavaliers on Friday if given the chance. It's unknown currently what role Johnson will serve with the Wizards though, but nevertheless, the Syracuse product doesn't hold any fantasy value since he's averaging a mere 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game this season.

Johnson was traded from the Pelicans to the Wizards on Thursday in exchange for Markeiff Morris (neck) and a 2023 second-round pick, David Aldridge of The Athletic reports.
Johnson has appeared in just nine games since the beginning of December, so it's no surprise to see him moved. While his role with the Wizards remains undetermined, Johnson doesn't figure to hold any fantasy value even with consistent run, as he averaged just 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds across 14.5 minutes with the Pelicans before being traded.

Pelicans' Wesley Johnson: Yet to play in January
Johnson (coach's decision) failed to leave the bench Wednesday in the Pelicans' 98-94 loss to the Pistons.
It's far from surprising Johnson didn't play any minutes in a closely-contested game, as the veteran forward has struggled to see action even in blowouts these days. In fact, Johnson has yet to play at all in January and has just seven of New Orleans' last 25 games. Johnson's odds of cracking the rotation will increase Thursday in Oklahoma City with Nikola Mirotic (calf) and E'Twaun Moore (rest) joining Anthony Davis (finger) in street clothes, though it remains unwise to bet on him logging significant run.

Johnson had three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, and one steal in 15 minutes during Sunday's 119-109 win over the Hornets.
Johnson moved into the starting lineup with E'Twaun Moore (calf) sidelined. However, Johnson spent most of the game on the bench while backup small forward Darius Miller went off for 13 points on four-of-seven from the field and two-of-five from beyond the arc. Johnson is best reserved for use in the very deepest leagues, as his ability to defend at a high level and knock down a three-pointer here and there doesn't translate well for fantasy purposes.

Pelicans' Wesley Johnson: Likely to move into starting five Sunday
Johnson is expected to start Sunday's game against the Hornets in place of E'Twaun Moore (calf), Pels' studio host Daniel Sallerson reports.
Moore has been ruled out with a calf issue, and while nothing is set in stone at this point, coach Alvin Gentry intimated that Johnson will get the nod at small forward in his place. Johnson played eight minutes Friday against the Heat and nine minutes Wednesday against Washington, but the promotion to the starting five should mean a bump in playing time.

Johnson managed five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 107-100 loss to the Timberwolves.
Johnson finished with season highs in rebounding, assists, and minutes while handing out more dimes in this one than he had in his first eight appearances combined (four). Given the team's lack of depth at small forward, Johnson seems like a good bet to continue earning quality minutes as the starter, though he has always been a modest contributor in terms of counting stats.

Johnson moved into the starting lineup as coach Alvin Gentry shuffled the rotation with Elfrid Payton (ankle)missing yet another game. Despite the promotion, Johnson failed to put up anything close to resembling fantasy production. He does have some defensive upside when afforded enough playing time but at this stage, it appears unlikely he is going to be able to get anywhere near enough minutes. Johnson will start Saturday against the Spurs, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
With Anthony Davis (elbow) available, coach Alvin Gentry will opt to send Tim Frazier to the bench, slide Jrue Holiday down to point guard and insert Johnson at small forward. Johnson has played two games for the Pelicans so far, totaling nine points, two rebounds, two steals and a block in 25 minutes.

Johnson is yet to see the floor for the Pelicans since coming over from the Clippers.
The Pelicans acquired Johnson from Los Angeles just before opening night, but he's yet to appear in any of the team's first three contests. At this point, it's unclear if the team is just taking its time getting Johnson up to speed, or if he'll end up being a fringe-rotation player going forward. While three straight DNP-CDs aren't the most encouraging sign, the Pelicans traded for Johnson for a reason, and it's likely he'll eventually find some minutes on the wing behind E'Twaun Moore and Solomon Hill.
