Los Angeles Lakers All-Star guard Kobe Bryant sat out the morning portion of training camp Friday with a right-foot injury, according to reports by the Los Angeles Times and ESPNLA.com. Later Friday, the Orange County Register reported that Bryant sat out the team's evening session too. The injury is not expected to be serious, although Bryant didn't meet with reporters Friday to clarify his status.

Bryant, 34, played in 58 of L.A.'s 66 games during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season and has missed a total of just 17 games over the last five seasons combined. The 14-time All-Star has undergone treatment on his knee in recent years but has otherwise remained in very good health, considering he's logged more than 42,000 career minutes in more than 1,100 regular-season games.

The Lakers open their preseason schedule Sunday against the Golden State Warriors in Fresno, Calif. The team's season opener is set for Oct. 30 in Staples Center against the Dallas Mavericks.
