Rockies' Kris Bryant: Reaches base in return
Bryant went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Bryant was activated from the injured list Tuesday after being sidelined since June 2. He hit fifth and notably played in right field, pushing Charlie Blackmon to designated hitter and Jake Cave out of the lineup. Bryant has managed only 105 plate appearances for the season due to back and oblique injuries, so he's also likely to make appearances as the designated hitter.

Rockies' Kris Bryant: Activated from IL
The Rockies reinstated Bryant (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Bryant has been on the shelf since June 6 due to a left oblique strain, but after playing in three rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, he'll rejoin the Rockies active roster. The 32-year-old slashed .186/.307/.279 in 101 plate appearances with Colorado prior to the injury and should slot into a regular DH role while occasionally filling in at first base. Sean Bouchard was optioned to Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Bryant (oblique) has gone 6-for-11 with two home runs across three games with Triple-A Albuquerque.
Bryant has had another frustrating season dominated by injuries, as he's hit just .186 with a .586 OPS in 101 plate appearances. His current form suggests he should be nearing a return from the injured list, most likely at some point during the Rockies' upcoming weekend series in San Francisco.

Bryant (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.
Bryant will play in all three games for Albuquerque over the weekend before being re-evaluated by team doctors. In his last 10 games prior to being placed on the injured list June 6 due to a left rib contusion and oblique strain, Bryant had gone 9-for-35 with one home run and four RBI, which actually brought his season slash line up to .186/.307/.279.

Rockies' Kris Bryant: Targeting post-break return
Bryant (oblique/rib) said Monday that he likely won't be activated from the 10-day injured list until after the All-Star break, MLB.com reports.
Bryant took full batting practice in Cincinnati on Monday for the first time since landing on the shelf in early June with a left rib contusion and oblique strain. While Bryant suggested that he responded well to taking BP, he'll still need to go out on a minor-league rehab assignment before eventually making his return from the IL. The upcoming All-Star break will limit Bryant's opportunities to stockpile at-bats in game settings, but the 32-year-old still seems to be trending toward being activated before the end of July.
