  • Pirates' Vicente Campos: Signs with Pirates

Vicente signed a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Wednesday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Campos struggled across multiple stops in 2018, posting a 7.04 ERA and 20:13 K:BB across 23 innings with Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Salt Lake before finishing out the season in the independent Atlantic League, where he notched a 5.64 ERA and 17:11 K:BB in 22.1 innings with the Sugar Land Skeeters. Look for the 26-year-old righty to serve as organizational pitching depth for his new team.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: Re-signs with Angels

Campos inked a minor-league deal with the Angels.

The Angels released Campos on Sept. 12, but evidently they had a change of heart. Campos missed a lot of time in 2017 after having surgery to remove a bone spur in June, which shut him down for a couple of weeks. He finished the year at Triple-A Salt Lake, where he posted a respectable 3.18 ERA across 16.1 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander needs to stay healthy in 2018 if he hopes to make his way back to the major leagues.

  • Vicente Campos: Released by Angels

Campos was released by the Angels on Tuesday.

Campos was cut loose a week after the Angels designated him for assignment. He had elbow surgery in July, but went on to compile a 4.50 ERA in five minor-league appearances. The 25-year-old will now look to catch on elsewhere on a minor-league deal.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: DFA'd Tuesday

Campos was designated for assignment Tuesday.

The Angels activated Garrett Richards from the 60-day DL and selected the contract of Deolis Guerra on Tuesday, so Campos was chosen as the roster casualty. The 25-year-old underwent minor elbow surgery in July but has been able to make five relief appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake over the past several weeks.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: Undergoes elbow surgery Tuesday

Angels general manager Billy Eppler said that Campos underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

It sounds like it was just a cleanup procedure for Campos, who shouldn't be looking at an especially lengthy recovery timetable. That being said, he'll likely be shut down from throwing for at least a few weeks, which will hurt his chances of surfacing with the big club before the All-Star break. The 24-year-old has compiled a 8.80 ERA over 15.1 innings with Triple-A Salt Lake this season.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: Reinstated from disabled list, optioned to Triple-A

Campos (arm) was reinstated from his rehab assignment and optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Campos underwent surgery for a broken arm last September, which made the nerve issues he suffered in training camp particularly concerning. He was shaky in his rehab appearances at High-A Inland Empire, allowing three runs over just 1.2 innings, but the fact that he has been able to pitch without pain is most important at this point. The Angels will let him continue to find his footing at Triple-A, and he could be a rotation candidate later in the season.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: Will be placed on DL

Campos is dealing with nerve issues in his arm and will be placed on the 10-day disabled list, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

There's yet to be any news regarding the severity of his ailment, but more information should be available in the coming days. Campos pitched just two innings over two games this spring, during which he allowed five runs on three hits, two of which were home runs.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: Back to 100 percent

Campos (arm) said he is feeling 100 percent and will compete for a starting rotation spot this spring, the Orange County Register reports.

The Angels claimed Campos this offseason after he suffered his injury. It looks like it was a smart stash now as they have a 24-year-old who posted a 3.22 ERA across five levels last season. He owns a modest 2.79 K/BB ratio, so he may be able to hold is own if he finds his way onto a major league mound this season. Given how thin the Angels are in the starting pitching department, it wouldn't be surprising to see Campos make his debut with Los Angeles sometime this year.

  • Angels' Vicente Campos: Claimed by Angels on Friday

Campos was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Friday.

Campos broke his arm in September, but the Angels still snatched him up based off his strong history of performance in the minor leagues (3.66 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 109 appearances). He is also only 24 years old, so although he'll likely begin his tenure in the organization at Triple-A due to his arm injury, he very well could find his way to the big leagues by the end of the season.

  • Diamondbacks' Vicente Campos: Diagnosed with broken arm

Campos has been diagnosed with a fractured right arm and will undergo surgery, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Campos was not slowed by the injury in 2016, as he made a career-high 25 starts in the minors and even made his big league debut in late August. However, he injured his arm at some point recently and will need eight months to recover from surgery, so he will not be ready to pitch next year until sometime around midseason.

  • Diamondbacks' Vicente Campos: Optioned to Triple-A

Campos was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Campos had just been called up last week and he made one appearance on Saturday, going 5.2 innings in relief while allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks. This move opens up a spot for Shelby Miller to return to the big league rotation, but Campos could be back up as soon as Thursday when rosters expand.

  • Diamondbacks' Jose Campos: Recalled by Diamondbacks

Campos was recalled by the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Campos recently came over to the Diamondbacks from the Yankees organization, where he had worked as a starter this season. He has a combined 3.26 ERA across three different levels in 2016, but he could assume a bullpen role with the big league club.

  • Diamondbacks' Jose Campos: Traded to Arizona

Campos was traded to the Diamondbacks in exchange for Tyler Clippard, Jack Magruder of Fanragsports.com reports.

Campos has quickly climbed through the ranks of the Yankees' farm system this season and pitched one game at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before being sent to the Diamondbacks. For the season, Campos is 9-3 with a 3.20 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. The Diamondbacks have yet to indicate if they plan to have Campos make his MLB debut this season. However, Arizona has one of the league's worst pitching rotations, as their starters have a collective ERA of 4.94, so they could very well choose to give Campos a shot in the show before the season ends.

  • Yankees' Jose Campos: Promoted to Double-A Trenton

Campos was promoted to Double-A Trenton, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.

Campos posted a 3.49 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 59.1 innings at the High-A level to begin 2016. Those numbers represent a nice improvement from 2015 (6.29 ERA). He will make his first Double-A start of the year Thursday.
