An MRI on Brewers first baseman Corey Hart's right knee came back clean, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Friday. Hart, who underwent surgery in January, has been cleared to engage in more aggressive rehabilitation, and he remains on track to return in mid-to-late May.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, continues to search for a first baseman for the first six or so weeks of the season. Khris Davis has been a popular suggestion, as the career minor leaguer is hitting a scorching .348/.400/.783 with three home runs in 11 games (25 plate appearances). But he has struggled in limited defensive action at first base in his career.

Ron Roenicke suggested shortstop Alex Gonzalez may have the inside track due to his glove skills. Taylor Green, primarily a third baseman, has some major league experience at the position as well and could form the left-handed side of a platoon.
