Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers. Plawecki has had a rough go of it since making his debut in mid-April. However, the young backstop has been hitting better in the month of June, batting at a .296 clip through 11 games this month.
Manager Terry Collins said he wants Plawecki to be behind the plate for Jacob deGrom on Thursday afternoon, so he will get the night off on Wednesday, according to ESPN.com.
Johnny Monell, who was called up when Travis d'Arnaud hit the disabled list on Tuesday, will make his third start of the year for the Mets behind the plate on Wednesday.
