Williamson closed with 20 points (8-15 FG, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds and five assists across 28 minutes during Thursday's 113-93 loss to Orlando. The 24-year-old forward produced at least 20 points for the seventh straight appearance, but Trey Murphy was the only other Pelicans starter to even score in double digits. Since the All-Star break, Williamson is averaging 23.9 points, 7.2 boards, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting 59.3 percent from the floor, but he continues to sit out one game in any back-to-backs as New Orleans manages his workload in an effort to keep him healthy.... Williamson's season-high 12 assists helped him record the second triple-double of his career, the first of which he posted on Feb. 27 against Phoenix. Despite struggling with injuries this season, Williamson continues to score the ball efficiently when available, as he is averaging 24.5 points per game on 56.3 percent shooting from the field across his 27 appearances in 2024-25.... Williamson closed Thursday's 109-97 loss to Houston with 20 points (5-15 FG, 10-12 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 32 minutes. The 24-year-old forward produced his seventh double-double of the season while scoring at least 20 points for the fourth straight appearance, and the ninth time in 12 games since the beginning of February. The Pelicans are still being cautious with Williamson's workload, and he continues to sit out one half of the team's back-to-backs, but so far the plan seems to be working -- during that 12-game stretch, he's averaging 25.8 points, 6.6 boards, 5.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks while shooting 61.4 percent from the floor.... Scott Kushner@ScottDKushner8D agoVery curious to see if the Pelicans are able to spin the Dumars hire into a massive positive. They usually find a way. A lot of stuff about his success 20 years ago as the focal point, is my guess. Probably won’t hear much about Darko, Iverson, Stuckey or the last decade.
