Brown (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Thunder. Brown will miss a third straight game due to right knee soreness, meaning the veteran's season has come to an end. Brown will end the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 8.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 41 appearances (12 starts) between Toronto and New Orleans.... See More ... See Less

Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Ruled out Friday
Brown (knee) will not play Friday against the Heat. Brown is set to miss his second consecutive game due to right knee soreness. His absence creates another opportunity for Keion Brooks, Antonio Reeves, Jamal Cain and Lester Quinones, each of whom logged 27 or more minutes against the Bucks on Thursday.... See More ... Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Won't play Thursday
Brown (knee) will not play Thursday against the Bucks. Brown, who was previously listed as questionable with knee soreness, will be held out of the first leg of this back-to-back set. Presumably, he'll be back in the rotation Friday against the Heat. Antonio Reeves, Lester Quinones and Keion Brooks are candidates to see increased run in Brown's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Iffy for Thursday
Brown is questionable for Thursday's game against the Bucks due to right knee soreness. Thursday's game is the front end of a back-to-back set, so the Pelicans are likely contemplating a maintenance day for one of the two games. Over Brown's last six appearances, he's averaged 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 27.4 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Good to go against Brooklyn
Brown (illness) is available for Tuesday's game versus the Nets. Brown has been upgraded from questionable to available Tuesday despite dealing with an illness. The veteran guard will likely make his sixth straight start against Brooklyn.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Falls short of double-double
Brown finished with 16 points (7-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, nine assists and one block in 32 minutes during Sunday's 111-107 loss to the Bucks. Antonio Reeves was one of the top scorers for the Pelicans in this game, but Brown is another player who's taking advantage of the expanded role he'll have in the final days of the regular season. The veteran has scored in double digits in five of his last seven starts, a span in which he's averaging 11.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per contest.... See More ... Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Posts 16 points in defeat
Brown provided 16 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two steals in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 114-98 loss to the Clippers. Although the Pelicans don't have much to cheer about, Brown's acquisition from Toronto has been a net positive for the team. He's come in handy amid season-ending injuries all over the roster, and while his promotion to the first unit is a necessity, he's playing well enough to earn a meaningful role with the squad next season.... Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Strong showing on glass
Brown chipped in three points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during Sunday's 98-94 victory over Charlotte. The 28-year-old wing pulled down double-digit boards for the first time all season as he helped cover for the absence of Zion Williamson (back). Brown has started seven of the last 10 games for the injury-ravaged Pelicans, although he sat out one of those contests himself for rest purposes. Over those nine appearances, he's averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 threes and 1.1 combined blocks and steals in 27.0 minutes a contest.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Scores 18 in return
Brown chipped in 18 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals over 32 minutes during Friday's 111-95 loss to the Warriors. Brown returned from a one-game absence due to rest purposes, and the veteran guard continues to make an impact as one of the Pelicans' most reliable offensive weapons -- although on a depleted roster. Brown has scored in double digits in five of his last six contests, a stretch in which he's averaging 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.5 steals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Set to return Friday
Brown (rest) is not on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Warriors. Brown sat out of Monday's win over the 76ers for rest purposes, but he's on track to return Friday. He has started in five of the Pelicans' last seven games, and he could be inserted into the starting lineup since Zion Williamson (back) has been ruled out.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Ruled out Monday
Brown will not play Monday against the 76ers due to return-to-competition conditioning. After logging 35 minutes in Sunday's 136-130 loss to the Pistons and finishing with 12 points, two assists and one rebound, Brown will sit out the second leg of a back-to-back set. In Brown's absence, more minutes should be available for wing players such as Keion Brooks, Jordan Hawkins and Antonio Reeves.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Productive in spot start
Brown closed with 14 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 22 minutes during Friday's 134-93 loss to the Timberwolves. Brown was one of the few standout performers for the Pelicans in this blowout 41-point loss, and the veteran made the most of this spot start, as Zion Williamson (back) didn't feature with this game being the second leg of a back-to-back set. Brown should return to his regular bench role when the Pelicans take on the Pistons on Sunday, so he's not expected to carry a lot of upside in most formats going forward as long as he stays in his current bench role.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Promoted to starting role
Brown is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. The Pelicans will be without Zion Williamson (back) for this contest, so Brown will take his place in the lineup. Brown is averaging 10.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in four starts this season.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Provides spark off bench
Brown closed with 15 points (5-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and six assists in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 119-115 victory over the Timberwolves. Brown played the most minutes (31) of any New Orleans bench player during Wednesday's win. Despite lighting it up from beyond the arc against Minnesota, Brown is shooting just 31.7 percent from the field and 27.8 percent from three across his last 10 bench appearances.... See More ... Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Ejected Monday
Brown was ejected from Monday's game against the Pistons, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports. After arguing with the officials, Brown was tossed from Monday's contest. The veteran swingman's night ends after logging two points (1-4 FG) and one rebound in 15 minutes off the bench. Antonio Reeves should see some extra minutes down the stretch Monday, while Brown's next game action arrives Wednesday against the Timberwolves.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Moving to bench
Brown isn't starting Monday's game against the Pistons. Brown has started his team's last three games but will shift to a bench role Monday considering New Orleans has managed to shake the injury bug. He's been unable to score in double figures in his last 13 appearances as a reserve.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Drops 19 points in starting role
Brown provided 19 points (8-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes during Saturday's 119-115 loss to the Spurs. Brown drew another start Saturday, marking his third consecutive appearance with the first unit. The sixth-year pro was a product of the Brandon Ingram trade, and the team will give him an opportunity to prove his worth while they struggle through the remainder of the regular season. A knee injury forced Brown to miss several games this season, but he appears to be past the issue now.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Starting Tuesday vs. LAC
Brown is in the Pelicans' starting lineup against the Clippers on Tuesday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports. Brown will make his second start of the season Tuesday while Jordan Hawkins retreats to the bench. Brown has averaged 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals over 22.4 minutes per game since being acquired by the Pelicans in early February.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Not listed on injury report
Brown (rest) isn't listed on the injury report for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies. Brown will return to action Sunday after missing Saturday's loss to the Rockets for rest purposes. With CJ McCollum (rest) and Zion Williamson (conditioning) unavailable, Brown should start and play a sizable role.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Bruce Brown: Ruled out for Saturday
Brown (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Rockets. Brown will sit out the first game of a back-to-back Saturday for rest purposes. He'll likely be back on the floor for the Pelicans on Sunday against Memphis, but New Orleans will likely turn to Jordan Hawkins to shoulder the load in the meantime.... See More ... See Less

Scott Kushner@ScottDKushner17D agoVery curious to see if the Pelicans are able to spin the Dumars hire into a massive positive. They usually find a way. A lot of stuff about his success 20 years ago as the focal point, is my guess. Probably won’t hear much about Darko, Iverson, Stuckey or the last decade.
